Bingo!

I really like that site to review price history before buying stuff and of course to track items. However, the notification system is not as fast as I would like, but hey is a free service, so I can't complaint much........:-)

Thanks!

Nice! I can order this as a starting point for my demo disc and eventually, buy cheap ones at eBay.
Thanks for the info. I have a MC close to my office. So, I might pay them a quick visit today.........wink.gif
My BR burner already arrived at my home and it is waiting for me at the front door. So, I will go ahead and purchase the ones at MicroCenter, so I can have my demo disc ASAP. But of course, I will add the Amazon ones to my "save for later" list until the price is right.
Thanks guys for all the info.....you rock!

You might want to consider starting with re-writable media. Initial cost is greater, but you can experiment with your new burner and get experience without making very expensive coasters.

You are totally right on this. Thanks for the tip!

Anyone seeding the blu-ray version? I can't seem to get any seeders. I am currently downloading all the DVD versions and will be seeding 24/7@170Mbps if anyone wants them quick. Soon I should have all the demo disks in this thread and scuba steves 2 blu-rays demos seeding.

There were 5-6 seeds recently, however let me add that if you've downloaded the individual disc you don't have to download the "full BD50" version, you can download the "DIY from files" version. LastButNotLeast (Michael) created this file and it works perfectly. You can create the full BD50 disc from the individual discs in about 30 minutes instead of 2 days of downloading. Just a thought.

I anyone still seeding?

The trackers come up saying timed out.

I got the bass and the animation but not the others.

Must say they are quite impressive.

There are 8+ seeds right now. If you can't get a connection check your router and run the test connectivity on the torrent client.
It still shows the trackers as timed out. But Peers were eventually found. Yeah!

Very excited. LOL.

Finally got it all downloaded and my bluray media arrived from China.

I burned it and it plays fine in my sony bdp-s370 but won't play in my newer sony bdp-s480 - anyone have any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is to check if there is a firmware update for that player. Or might be a bad BD disc.

Firstly, what do you mean by won't play:description please. Does it throw a Cinavia msg?

There is a whole thread, here on avs, that discusses playability problems with the s480. Some are caused by the new Canavia protection.

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1311280/official-sony-bdp-s480-owners-thread-all-questions-and-comments-go-here/180

" My understanding of cinavia is that if you play a cinavia infected title on a player with cinavia infected firmware from what cinavia considers to not be a "trusted source" (basically most anything other than the original store bought disc) then it throws a message and shuts down the audio. "

Lastly, quality media is very important. What brand did you buy? (I'm suspect of media made in China)

I made my first copy of the full demo disc. Everything seems to work fine, except for the music demo. Each clip starts with sound for one or two seconds and right after that sound is muted/gone. Any ideas on what is wrong?

BTW - no errors were received during the burning process. The disc used was a Maxell BD-RE DL.

Did you read the post right above yours? Could be the problem if you have a Sony or Samsung BD player.

Not really, I thought that issue was unique for the Sony. Funny thing is that just few minutes ago a new firmware update alert for my Samsung BD-D5500 was received, and after running it, everything is Ok. That Eagles song is just ............ssswwwweeetttt.....wink.gif

So, thanks for mention it, and I will not run any other update on my BD to avoid issues in the future.

And of course, big thanks to "superleo" for this fantastic demo disc.

Cheers!

Cheers!

That song has to be credited to LastButNotLeast (Michael) 100%. Thanks for the clip Michael... Great song.

There is a firmware update but I really don't want to put it on so maybe I am just stuck here.

Thanks!

When I put the disc in the player makes some unhappy noises and the display says invalid on the player itself. It seems lit can't even read the disc properly. The media is from verbatim from china. I have a RW disc I will try to see if it makes a difference but the 370 sure plays it fine. I have the firmware right before the cinavia came out.

Recently someone asked me, politely, if I could make a simpler disc label. No insult taken, different tastes for different people.
Also, I elected to leave the disc pattern visible since there was a confusion on how to use the first label I hope this helps.

The link is on this post as well as on the first page.

Actually, credit for the song goes to the Eagles. I'll take credit for getting it from the HD DVD (Farewell 1 Tour) to you.

Glad you enjoy it. It's one of my favorites, too.

Well, thank you for taking the time to ensure that video was added to the SuperLeo's BR demo disc. I can't stop playing that song every time I'm at my HT.......tongue.gif

@ Superleo

Thanks for stopping by, I do appreciate your kind words. Did you notice what I'm playing on my screen? Really happy with your demo disc.......once again.......thanks!

Yeah, I am happy with the DirecTV HD DVR. The feature that I like the most is the option to access recorded shows from any place at my home (two story home + basement). So, it is really convenient to use it. Only part I don't like is the "pause live TV" only works with the TV directly hooked to this unit........redface.gif(

I'm in total awe of this project. I dare say nothing else I've ever done myself, or seen done elsewhere compares to such an endeavor.

Last night I resurrected a old LD of the Moody Blues Concert at Red Rocks. Unbelievably my oldster Pioneer AC3 LD Player just fired right up after a 5 year hiatus in my storage room.

...breathe deep the gathering gloom......cool.gif I'm still a'tingle over the visuals and audio.

Someday, if I can assemble the needed Hardware / Software, I too hope to make a extended compilation of Classic Music Videos...for posterity, of course. Goodness knows my old LD collection, spanning '93 to '98 has some Gems that I'd like to contribute to any future project the Author/s here might be considering.
After I can surmount the necessary steep learning curve, I'll submit some content for any future discs that might be in the works.

Glad you are enjoying the disc... you have a very nice setup!!!

My wife had the same complaint about the "Whole Home DVR"... "honey just click record"...she said "waht!?"... Just hit record tell it to record the show and now you have trick play on the non DVR receiver, then when you are done watching just delete the show. She also asked me about not being able to view VOD on the non DVR receivers. Weeeeell... same solution, it needs to reside in the DVR first so just schedule it to "record" first and .... There you gooooo, you have VOD on any receiver. I really like the HR34, great engineering from DirecTV, I just upgraded most of my receivers plus the connectivity to a SWiM 16 and so far so good. I still have an old SD DirecTivo so I can pull any recorded show from it. I know that there is the NOMAD for that but the old DirecTivo does everything I need.

BTW, sure I notice the disc playing on your display smile.gif

Thank you MMan, and thanks for dropping by this part of the boards.

I appreciate your comments and all the help you offer at the DIY Screen part of the boards.

Also, I am really impressed at the theaters you've engineered, one can just imagine the audio/sonic experience of a wall being used as a speaker.

Thanks for all of the effort on this project, superleo. I'm downloading the BD now and I'm uploading at 250kB/s. I'll seed for a while too.

I'm curious to know how others have handled this disc with their HTPC. I run XBMC so there's no support for menus. Does anyone know of a way to mount the Blu-ray ISO on a Mac and play it back with menus? I know I could just load the individual m2ts files into VLC but that seems... cumbersome. I'm interested in your ideas!

Thanks for making an awesome project superleo, much appreciated. I've been stuck at 96.2% on the visual disc for a while and am wondering if I can get any seeders.

I've been seeding the bass and surround discs and will continue to do so for a few days.

Cheers!

I'm currently seeding all individual discs. I see two of nineteen peers regarding the Visual disc but no one downloading.
You might try stopping the transfer and restart it, that might help.

For what little I know regarding HTPCs; XBMC has no support for full BD menus, other front ends can use an external application such as Total Media Theater or Power DVD, both support full BD menus. I used TMT to test the discs.

Regarding VLC... you need necessary codecs to play the audio, that VLC does not have. The advantage of TMT is that includes every single codec you might need.

Excellent point about VLC! I hadn't thought of the audio codec problem. I'll check out TMT. Thanks!

Maybe I'm just slow and lack in reading comprehension, but I tried looking through the thread and searching, but I couldn't find an answer ...

Anyways ... I attempted to burn the Bass disc today using Toast 11 on my Mac. I utilized the "BDMV Folder" option under the Video tab. When I put the disc into my PS3 (Fat) it showed the disc as a Data Disc and had all the folders, but nothing would play. Is it not playing due to the older PS3 having issues or did I do something wrong during the burning process? Under the Data tab there is a "DVD-ROM (UDF)" option, should I have used this option instead?

Also, I noticed for the PS3, it might have to be patched, but I'm not sure how I can access the BDMV file on a Mac to patch it.

I really appreciate any help!
