/// Reference Blu-Ray Demo Disc - BD9 (DVD-DL Media + BD50) \\\ - Page 28

I would try playing it in an actual Blu-Ray player first. I know the PS3 can, but I've never used the fat PS3. I've got the slim/newer one. I also don't have experience with MAC and the associated software with it. I burned my disc with IMGburn. A different approach you could take (one that I've taken) is use IMGburn to make an ISO file out of the Bass Disc and then burn the ISO file.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, the PS3 is my only Bluray player.

When I open the disc on my computer, it has the BMDV file, Certificate folder and Index and Movie Files folder. When I burned the DVD, I'm assuming I should of only included the BMDV file, right?

Edit: from my previous post, I figured out how to access what's inside the BMDV file if I needed to switch out the Index and MovieObject files for it to work on the old PS3.

For Mac software and "How To" go to post 118... Thanks to Mookie b for that post.

Awesome! Thank you Leo and of course, thank you Mookie for that info.

Edit: So I attempted to make a second bass disc following Mookie B's instructions. The disc now shows up as an AVCHD DVD on my PS3, which is a good sign. When I click on it, it begins to load, but ends up back at the main screen and says it is unable to play the disc. I switched out the Index and MovieObject files when I burned the DVD as well.

Is this an issue with the old PS3 having playback issues? I don't have another bluray player in the house to try it out on unfortunately. frown.gif

One more thing that you may try...

Go to post 458 and follow JChin instructions on how to use MultiAVCHD to make the files playable from a thumb drive. Instead of a thumb drive you can burn those to DVD+DL.

Thanks for the suggestion Leo, I'll give it a try.

One is DVD and the other blu ray. I bought a dolby demo disc off ebay a couple weeks ago.

Just a note for Mac users, as hinted before, Burn OS X ( http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/ ) can burn the full size Blu-Ray just fine for free. No Toast required. The Burn documentation does not specifically mention Blu-Ray but it absolutely works.

I inserted the 50GB Blu-Ray media, chose "DVD (UDF)" format from the drop down menu, dragged the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders in, burned at max speed, and had a working disc in half an hour.

(Will cross post with that "other" reference disc thread.)

I've done at least that myself, and whenever utorrent is running here, it is seeding to help others out.

Unfortunately my outbound bandwidth isn't that great, but at least there's something going outwards for others.

Someone with 100% really need to seed (RAR_REFERENCE_BD50) many are stuck at 70-80% cool.gif
post #830 of 1344
Yes I agree, I've gone from 46 to 76% complete, and it's been stuck there since I woke up this morning at 5:15am and it's now 11:15

There are 3 seeds sharing the disc. The bottle neck right now is that you have 7 peers at the exact same percentage plus some others catching up. It will probably go faster is some of you pause it for a while and then resume... or simple get more seeders in the mix.
As Superleo said pause it for a while, then that'll allow the others to grab some more of quickly, then when you come back in they'll be feeding you some of that data they got whilst you were paused.

When you eventually get it all, please leave it running so that any others can get what you already have.

Many hands make light work, in this case many peers make a faster download. wink.gif

Thanks for reminding me. I have that disc on HD (remember HD?). I'll rip it and send it and a copy of "The Sound of High Definition" from Dolby from the same year to Leo for consideration for Volume 2.

You are, of course, putting together ideas for Volume 2, aren't you, Leo?

I wonder when someone will make a 3D demo Bluray...? I would be very interested in that.

I know Kalani was thinking about it at some time and just recently Steve mentioned a "Home Theater Demonstration Disc V.3(d)", so it might happen.

I have no means of testing such a disc so I'm out on something like this. mad.gif
