I love your ref blu-ray disc, if you plan on making or updating this one, of course I have no say I can only ask, but could you include more 7.1 test for the surround portion of your disc, or maybe offer tracks that have both 7.1 and 5.1 which you then in the menu choose which output you like to hear? again I am only suggesting, I know you take a lot of your own time to do this and it is very very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Fair enough
Im not sure where to begin with that, other then a link to every 7.1 bd out ^^;;
http://www.blu-raystats.com/Stats/Stats.php?OrderBy=Title&Audio=7.1
as for a side not this person made some good suggestions, they may not be all 7.1 but might make for a cool new section on his disc
http://blog.bowers-wilkins.com/speakers/top-10-blu-ray-discs-for-audio/
I will start going through what I have seen and what I own and pick up what I feel might make for some good 7.1 suggestions and then edit this post with a few of them.- superleo

I just got a hard drive from LastButNotLeast (Michael) with new material, thanks Michael, so this lights up the fire to make another one. I'll start considering and looking for material to include.
Regarding 7.1: It was not considered as a separate segment since "good" material is very scarce. Major studios are finally mixing in 7.1, now we just need to wait for the good stuff to be 7.1. Most all Disney/Pixar is now 7.1 but these will be under the animation segment.
I had considered including an adult segment... this would have NO sexual content ... instead would be more of a violence, comedy and language content. But I'm leaning more towards leaving something like this out.
We'll see. It takes a while to plan and finalize something like this... not 100% as of now that we will have disc No 2, but it is probable.

I think maybe including a few test tracks with it might not hurt, you know the whole left speaker... center... right speaker... and so on.
It would be cool to also make something that changed while it plays sorta like how at stores you see a side by side on the screen of an HD source and a Non HD Source, maybe do like a single track that goes from 2 channel to 4, to 5, to 7 and be like this is the difference.
Also would be cool to have like an audio part for 7.1 that chases around in circles from speaker to speaker, like Realtek buzzing bee sound that goes "around you".
These are just a few more ideas I had of course its just ideas

If you have a bluray burner, is really not that hard. All you need is to read a little and follow instructions... If you really want to play it safe then just buy a BD-RE disc. Give it a shot, you'll surprise your self.
Also, any questions you have lots of helpful guys here.post #852 of 12159/19/12 at 11:12ampost #853 of 12159/19/12 at 11:31am- Daniel Chaves

you would loose a lot of quality making it a readable DVD, do you have a computer/laptop system that has optical out? that you could hook up to your receiver that way? Then you can just play it straight from your computer to test with.

You can download the individual torrents and burn them to a DUAL layer DVD and you will NOT lose any quality. That was the whole idea of this project, to be able to burn them without a Blu-ray burner.post #855 of 12159/19/12 at 11:44am- Daniel Chaves

my bad I didnt read it since I assumed all this talk about blu-ray and what not, I thought it was just instructions to burn it to blu-ray disc not dvd so I skipped right over that since I just play it on my system directly. ^^;;post #858 of 12159/22/12 at 2:57am- zothlabath

I just would like to say thank you for this great project. I first loaded the BD9s but after burning the first one I realized that it did not work properly on my new Pioneer BDP150, I think the transferrate of the DL-DVDs is too low. So I bought my first BD50 and burned it without problems using imageburn. Works great, besides some troubles with my wife while testing the Bass-sequences

You are correct, the reason for no sound is that your computer is missing the DTS-HD and Dolby lossless codecs. You can download Total Media Player (TMT) and use it for the trial period to test the disc with full menus using your computer.
If burned to disc, your BD player will take care of the HD audio.
The "How to" burn is on the first post.post #863 of 12159/26/12 at 3:08pm- vistadelloco

I remember in the past something similar happened to me with other files. I was using a later/older version, I downloaded the latest version and tried it again and it unpacked it with no errors.
Try using the latest version see if it works this way.post #866 of 12159/29/12 at 9:22pm- Magicmonger

Quote:I have indeed been considering it, and definitely want one for my own use, but haven't gotten around to dealing with it yet. There's quite the learning curve to the mastering software and I just haven't had time... also, you need a decent library of 3D content to pull from, and my 3D library is still relatively small (although it's growing). Then there's the matter of track selection, etc... HUGE PITA. Kudos to SuperLeo and ScubaSteve for taking on these projects in the first place! Also, 3D gets even trickier than regular BRs, because what looks good on one setup, with one type of glasses, may not look as good on another. *sigh*
I may still get back on it at some point, if my time commitments loosen up a bit, but I'll have to play it by ear. If ScubaSteve is thinking about doing one, OTOH, he's way ahead of me in experience with every aspect of this sort of project, so I'll likely just help where I can with his project, instead, should he get it beyond the "perhaps that would be cool" stage. I'll have to drop him a note about it.
