If you plan on going with 15 drives you'll probably be better off just installing one 3-in-5 drive cage for now. Then add another when needed. Or you can by 9 of the ones I have and when you max those out start switching over to the 5 drive cages. That's what I plan to do. 9 drives will last me another year or two before having to upgrade.
I think I'm just going to leave it the way it is now, and once I start getting more drive I'll start bying the 3x5 cages.
I'm still waiting for my last drive to finish preclearing. It's been 25 hours, and its still going on the last step at 55%
I'm going to start doing like other people do, and just have drives that have been precleared prior to setting them up in the array.
Also, how fast the the data transfer using the gigabit network? or can I connect my external hdd to my unRaid server and transfer the files via usb?
