dem prices

I have no idea why it costs that much

I'm assuming that it can project screens to be as big as your local movie theater AND in HD??

Think every rich person has one of these?

like, mega rich, anyway.

that freaking price man. I'm guessing that it can project like, movie screen size pictures with still god tier resolutions or something....

if you look up projectors on google shopping...you know, the expensive ones are in the thousands and such, but then there's THAT one for that insane price

Projectors go way beyond $32k. $32k is just the start of High End Projectors such as Sim2.

Probably a commercial theater unit rather than a home theater unit.

Commercial theater might require a screen 30 to 60 ft left to right. For that sort of projection, the lumens heat up the unit and fans are noisy. The unit may be designed for separate room to muffle the noise with air conditioner, adding to more cost.

You obviously were not around during the the days of high end CRT projectors...

Runco had a demo of a nice dual projector 3D setup at CEDIA last Sept. with a MSRP of just $230,000. They said it would be ideal with a 400 inch gain 1.0 screen. Too bad I only have room for a 390 inch screen. Just dreaming!

I believe the MSRP is currently $199,999. For that money, you're better off with an integrator that puts in a couple of 4K Barco's.

Definitely the crappiest thread of the year, by far.

Correct the base price of the dual Runco setup at CEDIA was $200K but they said the configuration as demo'ed was approx. $230K.

So, does it use Dynamic Irises? Synchronisation between two DIs is quite a feat if gotten right. So is getting two motorized zoom lenses in the same position. Wolfgang told us the variation between his two units (lenses, perhaps also light engine) were too large to stack the 4K Barco's in 2D. 3D is more forgiving.

i have the d-73d from runco and there is absolutely no convergence issues between the two projectors.
