Just wanted to start this thread, how's the tv anyone?
I'm very happy with this TV so far. From reading a lot about the other older vizio sets other sets people complain about motion blur and clearly noticing the different zones of dimming, but I haven't noticed these issues so far. The manual is now available on vizio's site.

Thanks for the response, I'm thinking about buying this TV . I'm worried about the TV only having 120 Hz compared to newer TV's with 240 Hz and 480. Would I be able to tell the difference?

I've been looking but haven't seen one for sale anywhere.

I found two in Walmart

I saw a couple at Walmart yesterday, both were in the box and I couldn't tell if this has a matte screen. Just bought an lg 55lw5600 a month ago for about $500 less than this vizio and have been really happy with it, especially the 2d to 3d conversion for my kids' cartoons, so I guess I'll be waiting for 80"+ 4k TVs to come out for my next purchase in 5 years.

I don't know your level of expertise but I dont think you would be able to tell the difference, I have played a lot of PS3 games on this set now and the motion looks fantastic even though its a 120Hz set.

Scott Wilkinson reviewed this set for Home Theater Mag and its a very positive review.

Finally bought the tv, love 2d pic and 3d so far.

I've had a 120 Hz E47 Vizio and the 240 hz M55 and only difference ive seen is noticeably less 3d crosstalk ...especially in problem scenes suchas Killzone 3.

I have notice something I dont like. If you change the picture settings on one HDMI it does it for all. What were they thinking? Also there's no way to check for an update.

So i returned my slightly defective M3d550sr for this set...it already looks much better than the 55...with much better picture uniformity and pretty much no edge bleed, local dimming also appears much better with less blooming. The only fault I'm seeing so far is some motion blur, much better than the XVT650 but still there. It looks like when you leave an phone in your car when its cold and the screen has a bit of blur or after images when you scroll...it looks kind of like that. Hopefully I get used to it...this set was a beast to set up by myself.

In your opinion is the pic quality better than the xvt650? and how does it compare to the pic quality of a clear contrast screen dlp? Thanks for any response.

I think the image is much better than the XVT I had previously. That set looked grainy in 3d, had issues with detail in dark scenes had had unwatchable motion blur and smearing.
This set looks great so far, the dimming has none of the blooming the 55 inch had. No edge light bleed and no flashlighting in the corners. The only negatives I'm seeing is the slight fast motion blur (seen mainly in games when looking around quickly) and slightly sluggish menus. I haven't had a DLL rear projection set since 2001 so i can't compare, but I've had six sets in the last two months an its the best over 50" I've had yet.

Is anyone else seeing this motion blur? It's very similar to the XVT but not nearly as jarring. It especially appears in dark picture details, which can get obscured during motion. The reviews mentioned the smearing was gone in this model so I was surprised and a bit disappointed to see it there.

I only see it when playing video games.

I'm interested in buying this unit, though the Vizio website says it out-of-stock. Where is it being sold. TIA

you just have to check all Walmart's
I just can't seem to find this for sale. Anyplace else besides Walmart and the Vizio site that actually sells this? Where did those who have this unit, get it?
The frustrating thing is wal mart doesnt even list this on their website so you cant see what stores have it in stock.

Just came from a friends and his Samsung 6450 has the exact type of motion blur I'm seeing, so I guess it is common...I just can't figure out why the E47 had none at all...
Are you seeing the motion blurring with smooth motion and game mode turned off?
Yeah its there all the time...if you have Smooth motion on it helps a tiny bit but then gaming is impossible due to the lag. With game mode on it's bad, especially in dark games like Infamous 2...every movement is followed by a trail. My other Vizio 3D sets didn't do it. I would think it would be a panel defect but the XVT650 did almost the same thing so maybe its an issue with the 65" panels. I attached some videos I found on Youtube showing a similar effect on Samsung set. It's pretty glaring on my set, it doesn't seem like something everyone would miss or tolerate. It makes fast motion gaming irritating.

And my friends Samsung has minor blurring but not the dark object trailing or lack of shadow detail I'm seeing, just a slight blur that I've been seeing on many models of all brands in stores I've checked this week.

I'm having this issue with my vizio set. I suck at call of duty now.

How have you been dealing with it killa2009? I am thinking of contacting Vizio but I don't think there is going to be a solution for this issue.

just playing through it trying to adjust. Its been very frustrating!
I hear ya, I do about 75% gaming and the rest Bluray, Netflix, and cable. The dark smearing and blur make it tough to game...especially because I'm Lind of a perfectionist when it comes to image quality.
