System Update 4.10 - Page 2

OK I have noticed some audio issues since the new FW update. When watching a BD or a TV show from the HDD when you FF or RW it takes a few seconds before the the audio plays after you hit play. It was not like that before. Kind of aggravating.

Watching netflix last night, a few times it went out of HD. Kinda feels like Sony is doing development in a production / user environment.....Ugg!!!

Crackle worked fine for me, both the interface and movie playback.

Sony doesn't control Netflix, correlation does not imply causality.

FWIW, installing this firmware disables the PS3 from playing backup copies of Cinavia protected blu-ray discs.

My only complaint for the new PS3 4.10 firmware upgrade to the web browser is that it no longer streams and displays some videos directly. Instead, they must be downloaded to the hard drive and then viewed.

found another thread because it hasn't been fixed in 4.11:

That protection was introduced a while ago.

I think he's referring to this specific firmware killing DVDFab's stupid BDMV-REC workaround.

This is just FYI.

I looked back when I bought my launch PS3 a week after it came out. It came with firmware 1.32. Latest is firmware 4.11. From the 1st firmware 1.50 update until 4.11, there are 50 firmware updates. Just amazing to see an "electronic" device getting so many firmware updates over the years.

I keep every firmware update that came out for PS3 which are almost 7GB.

7GB is interesting, I think it shows how much Sony is trying to keep the PS3 a 10 year platform. I don't know if they'll succeed, but some of the things they've done like adding 3D and Move, but also removing Other OS, show the PS3 evolution.
