Xtreamer Sidewinder 3: Any reviews?

Thread Starter
It looks like Xtreamer just released a new realtek 1186 player to compliment their Prodigy. The sidewinder 3 seems to have all of the features that I'm looking for in a streamer. It plays 3d, surround sound, blue ray iso, seems to have a nice looking interface, and the price is right!

Has anyone tried one of these yet? I'd like to get some feedback before I pull the trigger.

Here are some specs.

http://www.xtreamer.net/2012/xtreamer-sidewinder3.html

Fanless design
USB 3.0 Slave + 2x USB2 hosts
750Mhz RTD 1186

HDMI 1.4 & component video
2.5 internal HDD (optional)
SD Card reader
3D File playback
7.1 Channel HD Audio
DVD and Blu-Ray 3D ISO
Running Prodigy based firmware
Comprehensive Subtitle Support
JukeBox Navigation
Photo Browser
No DVBT Tuner possible

I bought one a few days ago and have played around with it just a little so far. Off the top it seems like an excellent streamer for the $ so far. I'll report more on it after I get more time with it.

Does is support any streaming services?

Yes, YouTube XL and others. With the latest beta firmware release it also has XtreamerLive which appears to have a lot of content I've only just begun to explore. Streaming from NAS so far is working fine which is the main thing I bought it for.

I ordered one also because of the feature set. I should have it here in about 2-3 days. Must be coming from CA. takes forever to get across the US.

where are you guys ordering it from that i takes so long. amazon has 'em in stock at a good price and you can't beat the return policy...

dbone,

You need to get one of these and do a full review . They don't have many good reviews from what I can see on amazon.com.

Hey, he still needs to get that Mede8er review done that he's been promising for 4 months now. I'm surprised they have any customers at all based on past history. They killed the Sidewinder 2 after only 6 months and from what I see in the forum the claim is because Realtek isn't supporting the 1185 chipset anymore but yet others are still selling players with the 1185 chipset...hmmmm, BS?

If he has I don't see where he has posted it. I think he should cut out some of that wasted time in his life like sleep, just imagine what he could accomplish.

Lol, I agree. He should donate a few to a worthy charity to open space for some other players....some place like the djc11369 Foundation.

I just got mine today and so far been very happy with it. The one thing I can't get working is NFS. For some reason this one doesn't see my NFS shares that are on my unRaid server. All my other players see these shares fine, so I'm trying to configure the shares through the built-in NFS setup via the web browser. I really need to use NFS. My older first gen xtreamer I would just click library and it would list all SMB and NFS shares it finds. This one does not. I hope it is a bug and can be fixed, as I really need to use NFS.

Hi, just want to ask if it has the ff features:
1. Go to specific time w/in the video (disappointing that my WDTV Live doesn't have this feature).
2. setting of Bookmarks of several videos.

Thanks.

I ended up returning mine because of no NFS support even though the specs claim it supports it.

I had that issue, plus it started locking up on reboot. Went back.
