There is a pull I agree.
Personally though, I'm going to be waiting a few months past release to see if the tenuous rumors about a FF D400 with fewer MPs might pan out.
All I wanted was a D700 with robust video capabilities. The D800 will be a boon to certain studio shooters and landscape shooters, but it is just ridiculous for me.
