Anyone plan on going. I thought there would have been some posts on this by now.

Im going, still haven't found any theaters though.

Was just passing by a Sony store and they were playing Star Wars: Return of the Jedi on a few different displays. They were playing that scene where Princess Laya (sp?) first meets the Ewock and i laughed out loud because i completely forgot about it, great scene, should be fun to watch these movies again. Im suddenly glad i haven't seen these movies in a long time. Some upsides to being financially challenged, shall we say. Im more than a little worried about the conversion though.

Han shot first !!!

I might check it out once they get to the movies in the series that are actually worth watching.

I'm torn on this myself. I recently picked up the SW movies on blu ray. I have a four-year old daughter and we watched Phantom Menace about two months ago. She adored it!!

Where I'm torn is just continuing to support this franchise that continues to let me down. Plus, a 2+ hour movie, in 3D, might be a tough sell for my daughter. I know I won't really enjoy it all that much. Although Jar Jar in 3D gets me that much closer to punching his Gungan ass.

Bilbo, you related To Boba?

Never got the hate for jar jar. He is easy as hell to make fun of and is annoying. But he serves a purpose in the sw universe.

I think it's more obnoxious hearing people constantly saying how much Ep 1 sucked just bc of him. A true fan will enjoy it for what it is.

Anyway. The conversion was top notch.

I went and saw the episode 1 in 3d today. its like how I remember it back in 1999. there was so much to see the first time around and it make it more interesting in 3d. I do own a 3d set and i have seen my share of good and bad 3d. the 3d was pretty good. certainly better then clash of the titans, harry potter, and conan the barbarian remake. it seems that lucas took the time for it. hopefully its successful so we can see 2-6.
regardless if you like star wars or not. I would highly recommend seeing it in the theatre.
I did get the fancy 3d darth maul glasses.

Yeah. How about those darth maul glasses. They were for Friday only EXCLUDING the midnight show per AMC corporate. I got the manager to give me some anyway though. And the pod toy things are neat. Not sure how to play but everyone was trading before the movie.

Whatever happened to Jake Lloyd? I haven't seen him in anything after Epsode I. He's obviously an adult now.

I read an article a year or two about him having a tough time throughout childhood and until now because of his childhood role in the big movie. But he's not doing much of anything these days as you can tell, and maybe he prefers it to be that way

Saw it the other day and was not really wowed by the 3D effort or a fan of the first three episodes. it didn't help the out 3d image projected on the screen conveyed a convergence problem ( red bleed over the images). How can this happen with today's projection units???? Almost for a refund but it didn't seem to bother the people in the theater or they just didn't recognize the problem.

Sometimes "ignorance is bliss".

My daughters friend just stopped by and he works at the local "Showplace 12 theater". I asked how the star wars movie was doing. He said the turn out was less than expected and the 3D was not that good. Take that for what it's worth. Probably just as reliable as any of the posts here.

Better off watching this using the 2D-3D feature on a 3D TV. May look better than it does in the theater.
