Help with a decision

HI All.
I recently purchased an Onkyo 3009. I have an older SVS PB10-NSD. I hear XT32 does a great job with dual subs. Would I be better off trying to find a sub to match the svs or go with a newer higher performance single sub? One of the subs I'm considering is the eD A3-250. I kind of shot my budget on the Onkyo so, the less money the better. My room is not that large and our listening is 95% movies and concert dvds.

Thanks for any input,

Zaxdad

I choose get a better sub and with the VTF-15H it gives me all I wanted and then some. Obviously you are looking so something is lacking on your current sub that one more may not cure.

Unless you're really unhappy with the PB10-NSD - which, IMO, is a terrific sub (I used to own one) - I'd double up with a gently-used PB10-NSD.

Failing that, and depending on whether your budget permits it, a single HSU VTF-15H or Epik Empire might be worth looking into.

I'm not really unhappy with the SVS. My room is not that large so output is not an issue. It's more to take advantage of the xt32 capabilities. Also,I'm sure a used SVS is going to cost a whole lot less than a HSU or Epik.

Yup. Find a nice used one. It'll go a long ways toward smoothing out the response in your room.
