Does that mean I don't need to do anything after installing HCFR provided its already working with my meter?

BTW, what does one should adjust if all R/G/B are way above the target in luminance chart in a most effective way?

I cant seam to find these lookup tables, could you please tell me where they are located so i can check to see if they have been installed correctly.

Do i use the generic non refresh display for calibrating a front projector (JVC X3).

'Refresh' is used for CRT/Plasma.

I don't recall all 7 tables, but I think there was something in there more suited to the JVC projector (?).

Anyone can answer my question? What does one adjust when the luminance chart has measured curve of rgb all way above the target?

Two part answer:
1) If most of the luminance curve is above the reference, it likely means that your device's gamma is too low, but that's just a guess.
2) This question could be handled nicely in one of the other Display Calibration threads, especially one that is for your display (or close). It's NOT appropriate for this thread, but in one of those threads, you could post your .chc file from HCFR and others could offer very specific advise.

What is the spectral sample (in sensor configure) for? Shall I select Projector for whatever brand I own or it needs to match some exact brands?

I can't answer that but you can use the matrix John calculated using your x,y offsets right now. Advanced tab->XYZ coord. matrix->Manually edit

You haven't told us what display you are working on, but search the Display Calibration forum ( http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=139 ) to find one that includes your make/model of display. If you don't find an exact match, there should still be a thread on Display Calibration that is close. Display Calibration is the forum for discussions about how-to and results of calibrations.

Regarding current algorithm and workflow capabilities I see these three things as high priority, can you give a quick assessment of level of complexity? I would like to help out if I can figure this git business out.

1. add dE94
2. add BT.1886 fitting function
3. add configurable non-standard color workflow - by this I mean the user specifies an arbitrary set of color targets

1 and 2 I was going to do once I've sorted out the relevant bits of code to avoid too much repeated stuff.

3, should really needs an agreed design/approach, happy to have discussion on the mailing list, also best to offer git support there too.

I would just like to give a big thank you to JohnAd and all other contributors to this project.

Using HCFR together with a Spyder4 Elite,I have managed to get (I think) some reasonable results with my HX923 (929 in US), but will be asking for opinions and whether any improvements can be made. I'll do this in a separate thread , so as not to bung this thread up with beginners stuff.

I also had some help with getting everything working from DaGamePimp, so thanks to him as well.

Hi guys,

may be you are smarter then me. I can not make Spyder4Pro to use Argyll driver. If I remove Datacolor original driver and install Argyll's one, then it shows that installed not correct and shows troubleshooting triangle. When I reconnect USB cable of device - it automatically installs original Datacolor driver. And no way to connect to Argylls.

I'm missing something simple. On ver 3.0.4.0 my i1d2, and i1DisplayPro work fine, I get an Argyll error when I try to use my i1Pro spectro. The argyll driver is dated 3/18/2010 which I believe to be the latest. How do I get the spectro to work with HCFR?

If it auto installs the datacolor driver then it has not been removed, make sure it is removed and then reboot and try again. I don't have the Spyder 4 any longer for verification but I recall there were some issues initially that we went through in this thread. I actually removed all the Datacolor software from my PC when using the Spyder 4/HCFR combo.


HCFR 3 is not working properly with the i1Pro yet, what I did was create my i1Pro profile with HCFR 2.1 and then imported that into HCFR 3 and profiled my i1D3.

With the i1D3, you can just plug it in, no special drivers. However, you will want to run the i1D3ccss utility as mentioned here: http://sourceforge.net/p/hcfr/wiki/i1%20Display%203%20&%20colormunki%20display/ to get the display-type calibration files converted and installed.

What do you use if you have an OEM i1Display3?

Sorry but appreciate some help here!

I can purchase either the i1D pro or the color munki (believe they are both the same), can download the latest HCFR 3.0.4.0., plug it in an start taking readings and making the adjustments on my new Sam Ps51D8000 - is it really as simple as that?
Do i really need i1D3ccss.exe.?

Really appreciate some help here before I spend any serious money!
