(EDIT: I was mistaken, I thought that I had installed 3.0.1 but actually I installed 22.214.171.124, so the problem I have with 3.0.5 is still there, but I don't mind as the newer version is working properly for me.)
Hi, thanks for the great software. I've been using it since 2.1 with an EyeOne LT with no problems, but now I am a bit stuck.
I have a Colormunki Display and Windows 7 64-bit, and I am not able to make it work with HCFR newer than 3.0.4, however it works fine with 3.0.1
I am having the same problem that 5h4dow stated here (with an i1D3), and that remained unsolved:
The first I did was to install XRite's software, then restart and plug the colormunki, as XRite recommends. It works fine with the software provided by XRite. Then I terminated the process "ColormunkiDisplay", installed HCFR 3.0.1
(I don't know why I ended downloading this old version) and everything seemed to work fine. I took some measurements with no problem at all.
Then I realized that I have installed an old version, so I uninstalled it, downloaded 126.96.36.199
, installed and started it. And here come the problems:
1. I select the generator (DVD manual, for instance)
2. In "Select Sensor" box, I choose "i1 display pro Colormunki", as with 3.0.1
3. BUT, when Argyll Properties pops up, the "Meter Name" field is empty
, and I cannot select anything nor write anything in it. The only thing I can select in the drop-down menus is "Reading Type", between "Contact" and "Projector"
4. If I click "Ok" anyway, I go to the measurements page, as usual, but I cannot take any measurement, the green "Play" button does not do anything.
5. If I press the "Play" button and then I close HCFR, it pops up an error "Encountered improper argument
So then I tried to switch the driver for the one in the "Drivers" folder of HCFR from Windows Device Manager. So I click in "Update Driver" and select the "Drivers" folder, but Windows says that the driver is up to date (I guess it does not find any suitable driver because of what I describe next).
If I choose the option to specify the file with the driver, and choose "colormunki.inf", Windows replies "The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver".
I also tried to uninstall the Colormunki software and driver completely, restart and plug the Colormunki prior to any software installation (nor CD software, nor HCFR), so Windows installs the driver it wants (I guess it is the same one as before, as in both cases it says that it is a driver from 2006).
The behaviour continues to be exactly the same. If I go back to 3.0.1 it works fine again. I have tried also with HCFR 188.8.131.52 with no luck.
Someone knows what is happening? I really would prefer to use the more modern version.
And, another question related to 3.0.1
. I want to measure a plasma display, so in the "Select Sensor" box I tick the "Apply a meter correction matrix" and in the drop-down menu I choose the "plasma" option.
But then, in the Argyll properties window, in the "Display Type" section I can again choose a plasma option (it says something like: "plasma EDR ...."). In 3.0.1 the menu "Spectral Sample" does not exist.
My question is : Do I have to choose plasma in both menus, or just in one of them? Would I be "overcorrecting" if I choose "plasma" in both places? And if I only have to tick one menu, which is preferred?
Thanks a lot.Edited by marcuse1979 - 1/8/14 at 11:22pm
