The book was awesome. Hoping the movie doesnt disappoint

That looks way better than I thought it would.

I'd heard of the movie but this was my first look at it. Hyped!

Weird... Honestly, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter?! Tim Burton needs to lay off the drugs or whatever he is on.

I dont see the draw i guess..... Saying 1 of the greatest US presidents was actually a vampire hunter? The synopsis also insinuates that he wasnt against slavery, the vampier "helpers" just happened to be the slave owners.

I dont know, maybe its not what im seeing, but i dont get it.

It's based off a book.

So the book writer was on drugs. Honestly, what a very strange story.

Oh come on guys... just sit back, relax, and enjoy the true story.

Looks horrific and stone-faced serious. Great combination with that concept!

How RIDICULOUS!
Well, you know it is a true story!

Then you might want to avoid his other bestseller:

1. This is from the Russian guy that directed Night Watch and Wanted. He knows how to do weird and have a blast with it.
2. I haven't read the book, but it's supposed to be very entertaining.
3. It's not a sequel or a reboot.

I'm in.

I manage a theater & when we first started getting info & promo materials I personally thought how stupid & ridiculous, but then so many people have told me the book was excellent, many even went as far as saying it was the best book they ever read.
Opening night for me since the crowd will probably be as entertaining as the movie.

Shoot, side job. Ole Abe couldn't keep Liz in furs on a president's salary.

Is there much historical inaccuracy in this movie?

Well Honest Abe was an accomplished wrestler ... so I'm looking forward to the re-enactment of when he defeated Hulk Hogan for the championship.

Seriously though, I was also rolling my eyes when I read about the concept behind the film but the recent trailers definitely have a style and flair to them that most films lack and have piqued my curiosity. The premise may be absurd (with all apologies to the author of the comic) but as long as the film is well made, entertaining and has some good 3D I'm willing to cut it some slack. If I'm going to watch a movie with vampires, I'll take something like this over the Twilight films anyday.

There might be a 3D trailer for this in front of Prometheus
post #27 of 44
Saw the trailer with Prometheus and I'm much more interested in this movie now. The 3D in the trailer was excellent and the movie looks like a lot of fun.

I also caught the 3D trailer in front of Prometheus and the 3D looked excellent to me as well. The film definitely has a unique visual style to it and I'm keen to see how the finished product turns out.

I know all about the source material for this movie but I almost wish that it involved an original character killing vampires in the 1860s rather than Lincoln as you just know the critics will jab at the revisionist history incessantly .

I was shocked to find out my mom was reading this and then even more surprised when she told me she might place it in her top 20 all-time. Apparently the actual writing style is very good.

Have to tell you I enjoyed the book myself and am looking forward to the movie. I was also skeptical whan I first heard the title but got so many good recommendations from my book club, I had to try it. I'm glad I did. I hope the movie measures up.
