Blockbuster total access 2 months free! - Page 3

post #61 of 74
After a bit over a month of using Blockbuster@Home I have to say it is an EXTREMELY SUBSTANDARD service and you would be MUCH better off with Netflix. I really wanted this to be a winner, especially since I worked for them years ago (way before the stores started falling like rain), but if this service is supposed to save them they are screwed.

Why, you may ask, is it so bad? Double, at minimum, the return & delivery time of Netflix; somehow an amazing lack of mid & high popularity releases, along with a service that has many hidden charges and policies means that not only are you getting bad service but they are liable to steal from you at any time for ridiculous reasons.

It's sad to say but I think we will see Blockbuster join the Tower Records and Turtle's Musics of the 80's on the cinder of failed former mega-businesses. And the only people they will have to blame is theirselves because of their unyielding greed and pathetic service.

The Dish Network / Blockbuster marriage is royal pain in the arse;
Fair warning to anyone trying to redeem a Blockbuster Total Access 1-Out-At-A-Time 12-Month Subscription gift card purchased from a Blockbuster retail location;

Customer service at Blockbuster is extremely inconsistent.
The card is valued at $120 for 12 months and you may experience problems with the application of the gift (value) funds against an account with a credit card already associated.
As it was explained to me by one CS rep, the promo rate is $10/month which includes any applicable taxes. Other CS reps will have no clue of this and subsequently you won't
get use of the full-term if debits to the applied balance are charged at $9.99 + taxes. Furthermore, it states right on the card that you need to go to a specific web address that doesn't
exist so enabling a new account will be fraught with major frustration when you try to sort it out with most of the CS representatives. Additionally, Blockbuster hit my credit card for the monthly
subscription amount even though the gift card was supposedly applied - so word to the wise - check your online account for proper processing.

Dish screws this up just like many other billing mistake issues - frequently demonstrated by the Denver based company.
Stick with Netflix...

Can someone re-post the details on this again? I signed up successfully a while back and would like to try it out again. Was it a coupon? A link? I don't remember.

Thanks!

Go to a Blockbuster Store and buy the Total Access 12 Month gift card (it might be called Total Choice or Total (something else) now. Just ask.
Then call Blockbuster on the phone and activate the card.
You get 12 full months of one-out-at-a-time rentals, bluray, games or DVD, and the taxes are already part of the 10 bux per month...

I had to use Internet Explorer though. The "dots" were not showing in Chrome FYI.
