Is this rumor true about Onkyo buying NAD?

I read somewhere online that a guy said that onkyo bought NAD. I also was wondering if you saw a used NAD amp at a thrift store, how much would you pay? I missed out on one the other day. The worker said they sold it the day before. Some sign was on another product saying it was tested with NAD. It was $70.00.

Unfounded rumour.
There is a mutual investment of Onkyo in TEAC and vice versa.
And a substantial investment of Gibson Guitars in Onkyo as a major shareholder.

Thanks for letting me know. The post was a few years old. I don't know much about Onkyo or NAD, so I wasn't sure if they did buy them. I am not sure why that guy thought that NAD was bought bye them. He said that since onkyo bought NAD, that the quality hasn't been as good.

NAD is owned by lenbrook which is a Canadian company that also owns psb speakers. They are wonderful. I have 3 NAD receivers in great condition. My main theater room has a NAD T775HD receiver. Great receiver by the way. Their old stuff is great too.

Actually Trane and Onkyo are merging. Trane needed a more efficient heater to compete and tested out an Onkyo receiver. It's a "match" made in heaven.

(Don't take my post seriously, just having a bit o' fun)

I think you have it backwards. Onkyo needed a better cooling system so thats why they merged with Trane. I'm currently beta testing the new Trankyo cooling system on my 886.

The way I heard it is that Onkyo is merging with the company that makes the George Foreman grill. Cook some burgers/brawts while you watch a movie.

My RX-V2700 did not seem far off from being able to do that. You would want some sort of grease trap though, because brat grease and circuit boards don't seem like they would go well together.

Now I get it, high current amps make more heat..
