is there any hdmi chips out now that support deep color at 4k? It seems like 1080p is the cut off. This is only one chipset. What others are there?
If there isn't, it seems like a waste of money spending a lot on a hdmi extender. Buy one that's relatively cheap that does 1080p and forget about 4k and deep color. Worry about that when you go and buy a 4k projector. My understanding the JVC won't even take 4k content, right?
4k content seems like at least 5 years down the road. Can dual cat 6 cables handle the bandwidth of 4k? It looks like a single cat 6 and cat 6a can do 10gbit/sec so it's the same speed as hdmi 1.3 and abovehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10GBASE-T#10GBASE-T
Sounds like an extender is the way to go.
If you MUST have deep color this one says it supports ithttp://www.hdtvsupply.com/hdmi-14-cat5.html
interesting that it will only do 36bit not 48bit deep color.
*36-bit support is mandatory for Deep Color-compatible consumer electronic devices, with 48-bit support being optional.
