I've been using PDVD since version 8. I'm currently on 11. Thinking back it's been a long stream of annoyances and problems. I won't list them all here but it's been a bit of a struggle.
Currently with the latest patch of PDVD 11 I'm getting occassional stuttering and image pixelation/corruption. It seems to depend somewhat on the movie (some are worse than others) and usually happens anywhere between 3 and 10 times during a movie. By stuttering I mean it seems the picture is just not smooth and like it's dropping or skipping some frames for a few seconds and then goes back to normal.
So, is it time to move to TMT5. I've browsed the TMT5 thread and people generally seem happy, and of course a number of complaints, but I've become quite picky and I've got a large library of BD .iso's. I've got a pretty new receiver and want to continue bitstreaming too.
Systems stats:
Win7 64bit
E4500 CPU
AMD 5570 GPU 1GB
4GB Ram
I use AnyDVD SetDisplayFrequency.exe to switch refresh rates to 23 and VCD for mounting .iso's. 3D is not a consideration.
So, any advice on whether to risk PDVD 12 or ditch Cyberlink and try TMT 5? Any advice on the best ATI driver for each/either? Is there anything I'm going to miss from PDVD or other tips?
