Lighting help

Built a soffit with a cavity for concealed lighting. It will be used only as accent lighting that will shine on the ceiling. Receptacles are hooked up to a switch on the wall.

I tried using LED rope lights. I like the white light, but since the bulbs are about 1" apart the light is not even.

Total distance for lighting is 60'. Any ideas on how to have a nice "glow" affect without spending over $200 (if thats even possible).

Not sure if there is enough room. The cavity is only 2.25" deep x 2" tall. I wish I made it bigger. +1 bonehead move for me!

Actually I just found a site that has sizes that will fit. Problem is we are talking over $500. At least I know what there is the right size, but I will definately keep looking.
