I have bought the 2 Vieras from Best Buy for the prices listed in the title thread and I don't know which one to keep... What would you do

If I had the money to comfortably purchase the more expensive one, that's the one I would keep.

I'm never one to buy the top-of-the-line of anything always wanting to take the extra $$$ and get something else I need. No doubt the VT30 is a awesome set....but....do you needs a new BR Player or a pair of 3D Glasses? ok on cables, surge protector or some new BR movies?

When I got ours (55" GT30) I had a budget of around $1700.00 per the wife. Our other set broke. I could've got something else but found the set at $1350.00. I then grabbed the Panasonic BDT210 BR player since our older Sony didn't play 3D and also grabbed a pair of 3Active glasses ($120.00).

Other than that the VT30 is as good as it gets for now but the GT30 can hold it's own. It's either get a really good set and save some $$$ or get a really awesome set and never look back.

Get the 55 GT and sell it for 850.00 in 6-8 months and buy a GT50.
You should be able to get a 60GT30 soon for around 1700-1800.00 if you want to spend the money now.

I am sure it will go on sale soon online.. Check out dealnews.com daily.. Panasonic EPP doesnt even list the 60GT30 and right now they have the 60ST30 for 1800+tax. Weird ... so you know they are getting the 2012s in soon.

Right now its really stupid to purchase a 2011 set.. If you need a TV I would just grab a 60ST30 right now for about 1250.00 online, live with it for 6-7 months sell it for a 2012 model.. The 2012s line will be alot better especially the GT50

btw those prices you listed are not spectacular..

That choice would depend on how much emphasis you put on PQ..being a PQ slut myself,I would unhesitatingly, chose the VT..IMO,the quality will last long after the extra dollars are forgotten.

from what I understand the differences are that the VT's have a better piece of glass thats thinner and also a better black level display and something about a newer method of injecting the plasma or purifying it, but the color accuracy should be the same between the VT and GT

$400 is a lot to pay for that, but maybe if you check a best buy they will have the 55GT31 which is the same as the 55GT30 but comes with 3D glasses and I think a movie - its only $1599 and I was there yesterday and my local store had 3 of them left so if you want one you had better call the stores and see because its a pretty good deal

strangely from my notes I have calibrated a VT25 and it was .002 black level while my friends 65VT30 is .004 black level and its brand new

my friend just got a 65VT30 for $2400 with a Ford Motor Company discount that he gets on certain brands like Panasonic and Sony

Actually, this time of year is a great time to purchase a TV. Prices are low because they are trying to get rid of inventory for 2012 models.

There doesn't appear to be any gigantic improvement in quality for the 2012 models. Plus, companies like Samsung are trying to force resellers to all use the same pricing just like Apple, so no shopping around for deals.

I had the GT30 before and liked it but the VT30 that I changed it for is much better set...Well worth the money IMO

I was able to get Amazon to match another stores web price and got my 65VT30 for about $2370 total

A steal if you ask me and the PQ and the tv design is incredible.

Ummm not true. This is the best time to get a great deal on the current models because new ones will come in soon

I got the 65VT30 for $2377 and I am sure the 65VT50 wont be near that price until 2013 models are about to come out.
