That's where Audyssey set the sub level with the gain set at 10/11 position on the plate amp during calibration.
I will run it again today when the neighbor leaves.

Try turning down the sub gain to 9 o'clock and rerun Audyssey.

To make it easier, run it once the primary listening position only, and then check and see if it's in that range. Repeat until it is close to 0, then run it for all your listening positions. That can save you some time.

We were watching our first movie, and during the quieter dialogue parts...it was pretty noticeable. She was a few feet away (sub behind couch), but I was about 7 feet away and could hear quite a bit. With the TV off, you can hear the hiss from 10 feet away. Does that seem right?

Guess a call to SVS is in order. Seems strange as my sub is only a day old though. I might try and move the sub cable some...just to be sure it is not electrical interference....but don't think it is.

I don't hear any hum or hiss with my new PB12 NSD. I would hear hum from my Sunfire true signature from time to time.

Thanks for the help guys. I contacted SVS about the hiss...and they indicated it was not normal to hear it from several feet away. They are sending out a new Sledge amp on Monday. Great customer service !!!!! On a Saturday no less! Very happy.

Good to hear Paul.

cel4145....how do i make it keep/save the setup if I want to stop it after the main position instead of continuing through six?

On my Denon, after the first position, there is an option/button to "calculate". That calculates all the Audyssey settings, and thereafter is the option review and/or save the settings. YMMV.

I have to rank OPPO and SVS at the top when it comes to first class service.

Depends on the receiver, but usually instead of hitting "next" or something, you can use the cursor keys and select "calculate"

Can you elaborate on how the two compare? I am looking for a replacement for my dying Sunfire.

I would say the PB12 is smoother and i can just feel a diff as it digs down lower than the Sunfire True signature did. Plus i don't get a off and on hum like i did with the Sunfire.

Well my HSU arrived today, HOLY S**T this thing is HUGE! My wife sent me a pic while I was at work today of my daughter standing next to the box and it was towering over her with a caption saying "Serious?" I couldnt help but laugh.

It's only huge at first. Before long, it'll look "just right" and then, maybe, it'll even become "kinda small". Same thing seems to happen with TVs/displays...
