Really? well it is not that great on the PS3 either. My Roku2 seems to do better with Hulu +, but the netflix interface is much better on the PS3. I have both sitting side by side and switch back and forth between devices depending on what I want to watch biggrin.gif

Really. You'll be happily watching a show, then when an ad is supposed to show, absolutely nothing happens for several minutes, possibly forever. Next time the ad may play or it may not. Hulu+ is completely unusable on Panasonic, unless something has changed recently.

MLB is unusable too on the Panny. It's last year's version, and has never been updated by MLB TV. More cosmetics added to sell the 220.

Completely agree...unusable on the Panny. Other than actually watching via my Directv subscription, Apple TV is pretty decent for At Bat.

Sorry I am a noob with this stuff but I just bought the Panasonic DMP-BDT 320 and Panasonic VT-50 Television. When I use DLNe to stream mkv from my computer to my Television it works Great except the audio doesn't work or only works in 2-channel stereo (obviously) So I want to stream it to my BDT320 because that is hooked up to my receiver to get 5.1 digital sound, however the blurry player won't play any of the files. Just gives me an error saying "cannot be played". I think its weird that it will play on the television but not the bdt320.

thanks for any help

None of the major brands boast that they have players that support it. I stream 90% of my TV viewing content and i am looking to speed up load times on Netflix and Hulu plus. I have a fast wired network, but with all of the wireless networks in my area there is a lot of interferance on the 2.4ghz frequency. I was trying to justify purchasing a blu-ray player instead of using my PS3 if it would stream quicker. Oh well!

I think I read in an Amazon review that the prior year LG BD670 supported both frequencies. It was noted because LG dropped that from the new 2012 modeal (BP620). However, I have no experience with it.

Nice TV. I have the ST50 and it cannot pass along DTS sound. DD is ok, not DTS. So it depends on the encoded audio in the file. The result was the same either streaming (via serviio) or usb.

I also demoed the BDT220, and like your 320, it could not see/play mkv files via stream with serviio. Those files only worked with usb or by mapping a network drive (or folder in my case). This was one of the reasons why I returned the 220. LG, Sony and Samsung (if you can get Allshare to work) can play mkv (with DD and DTS) via stream.

I had read that and I tried it both ways. Made no difference. Its a Fox title and I guess they do a lot of goofy things with copy protection. My PS3 had issues with the title as well. Wouldn't load. Then when I did get it to play it would skip chapters.

I did the Page 31 remote based reset last night and it allowed me to reenter my information into Netflix.
I am glad it worked but it is like being happy that your computer works, but to do so you had to reformat and reinstall. eek.gif There should be a better recovery method.

My other complaint with the 220 is that as a media renderer it stinks. It reads very few movie and picture types. I ended up getting a Micca EP600 to fill that role, but the necessity to buy an additional appliance to do something that the 220 should already do is frustrating.

I apologize if this has been asked/answered previously. However, I did some searching on this thread and could not find anything. We have the DMP-BDT 320. If I'm watching a DVD and power off the DVD player (after pressing stop), it does not remember the spot I was at in the DVD when I power it back on. All other DVD players I've owned have had this capability. Is this a bug with the player? A feature I need to enable? Just the way things are? Thanks for the help.

On a side note, I've also experienced issues with Netflix and I have the internet connection wired into the player. Doing a factory reset solved the problems (of course I lost all my settings).

Don't press "Stop" but power it down without pressing "Stop" and it should work. At least it does on both my Panny DVD and blu-ray players.

Does Netflix on the BDT 220 allow you to search by actor? For example, plug in Clint Eastwood and all his films come up? If not, do you know of a player that does this?

thanks much,
Clint

My "Inception" Blu-ray only ONCE
showed the play options on the main menu while attempting to play it on my Panasonic 220. It'll run the coming attraction stuff until it reaches the main menu and then is just stuck there in an endless sound loop with no play options at the bottom . While it'll play just fine on my cheap Toshiba player in the other room. I've had no other problems with any other Blu-rays, the firmware is up to date, and the disc is clean without scratches . Any answers out there?

Thanks Lujan. I'll test this out and respond back with my results.

I've tried searching for "john travolta" in Netflix players on the 220, Roku 2, TiVo Premiere and Xbox 360 and none of them will search anything but titles. I doubt that any of the other embedded players with search features will either. You'll have to use Netflix's web site for that.

So I got Pirates of the Caribbean (1st one) from Netflix and I returned it because it kept freezing and skipping. I got replacement for Pirates and encountering same problem. I had no problems with Wall-E, The Matrix, How to Train A Dragon. Is this a disk issue or something wrong with my player.

There should be a list somewhere of BD disks that have caused your player to have problems.

I usually wipe all rentals from the center hole outward with a clean lint free cloth. Microfiber is a good choice. If that doesn't work, I try washing them in warm water with a mild detergent.

If it's the player, it's probably a firmware issue.

The OPPO owner's thread has a list of all BD disks that have caused that player problems.

In any case, your player isn't broken.

Only titles, no massage parlors?
I recently bought a BDT-220 but I don't seem to get the subtitles (.srt) on mkv or avi files. For example, I put a mkv file together with the .srt file in a separate folder on a USB stick. The mkv plays correctly but no subtitles, the name of the subtitle file is identical to the mkv file except for the extension. According to the manual this should work but I don't get any subtitles? I'm on the latest firmware.

Has anyone got this working? What am I doing wrong?

Huh. I wasn't aware of the current scandals around him; I went to Netflix's site and searched for a few actors and actresses off the top of my head until I found someone with a fair number of hits. I don't pay much attention to that tabloid stuff. The last I saw Travolta was in From Paris With Love as a waaaay over-the-top government agent/assassin/mentor-for-John Rhys-Davies' young, non-field-experienced agent. Though it didn't review well, I thought it was a lot of fun.

So I own the BDT220. I've owned it for a few months now, bought it from Best Buy brand new. Everything has worked well and easily. Last night while streaming a TV show from the Amazon app the player suddenly stops playing the show and displays "Cannot Connect. Please try again later or confirm Network connection and settings".
I have:
Reset the blue ray player - no resolution
Reset my wireless router - no resolution
Tried to access any wireless network after doing this and I am unable to.
I have never had any problems with this player until now.
I notice when I turn it on and go to the Home screen that it says there is firmware update available. But when I go to DL it i have the same issue of not being able to connect to a network.
How the heck am I supposed to DL a firmware update without being able to obtain a connection? This is ridiculous.

I'll try this tonight, I bought the disc, but I hadn't put it in yet.

I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I am having a lip synch problem with my BDT 320. The sound is lagging the mouth movements and this is with a regular bluray disc, not the netflix issue.. I know there is a delay that can be set, but that would exacerbate the problem as it is already delayed. Anyone else have this problem and know of a fix. I already did a reset and that didn't help.

Do you mean that you press the remote button and 3 or 4 seconds later it does what you asked? What are you watching? A disc or some streaming service, and if a streaming service, which one? If a disc, what disc and have you tried other discs with the same result?

I'm fairly certain that you're the only one who's reported this.

First night with the 220 - which is taking over for my 85. At first, no picture using same HDMI cable as the 85 had. Then tried the cable going into the Tosh XA2 and bingo! So, I swapped out the 85's HDMI cable with an extra I had luckily also ordered from Amazon (Mediabridge at $10) and it worked too. Wireless Network connection and update were fine, and the firmware update failed the first time during download but went through the 2d time.

Set up at Normal mode and normal Chroma, +2 on Clarity and Super Res (per the ISF guy who posted in March). First tried LOTR EE DVD to check upscaling. Looked quite nice, though I can't really compare to the 85 - it's been too long since I watched the dvd version. Still, I am confident it looks better than when I watched it on the XA2 or the Panny 55. The audio (I decode in the player and send to a HDMI 1.1 Denon 1907) sounded very good. I'll try Walking With Dinosaurs tommorrow - that was the first dvd where the 85 noticeably exceeded the XA2 in upscaling. I then watched a bit of Red Cliff on BRD. I need to watch more but I just watched the same scene with the 85 last weeknd and I did not discern any material difference in the indoor scene I rewatched.

The tray seems flimsy compared with the 85 but otherwise I have no complaints.

The delay I am getting is about 3-4 seconds.

The only delay I'm getting is when using the touch pad functions with the Harmony 880 remote. It's only a second or so though.
