Take a few passes and trim off a little at a time.






For the final pass, use some paper folded over to set the depth, leaving a little bit to sand the rest of the way.






One side sanded.

Hey PI

Did you intentionally get the warning label from the strap in this shot? Was it a strap or clamp that whacked you in the head?

Pete--The warning label in the shot was purely accidental.
A 24" Black Pipe clamp was launched from the curved panels and got me. I'm glad it wasn't serious.

It's not speaker-related, but here's a tip:

If you have a slow leak, but the tire won't hold air, because the bead has broken free from the rim--you can force the bead against the rim, by squeezing the tire with a ratcheting strap. Then you can add air.

This trick works on car tires, too.

Nice! Almost a shame to cover the front of those with another baffle, they look pretty good as-is.

Thanks, Chris! I wanted to make sure the front baffles were strong.


I didn't like the look of the newly added baffles, since I didn't angle the edges to match the curve of the sides. Sorry I didn't get a photo of that.
I sanded the edges to match the curved sides.




Then I sanded the edges with a curved sanding form used for sanding sheet-rock corners. I placed a folded sheet of P220 over the curved sanding form and held it in place with my hand while I sanded a rounded edge.

Thanks, man!
The drivers are 10" NHT 075s.
I used the 10" NHT 083s in my Howitzers.
Both drivers are sadly, no longer available.

Funny you should post this - a few months back i looked up how to get air into a tire who's bead has given up and found this approach. I was very skeptical, but it worked fine for me on my snowblower.

+1 for random garage knowledge

Nice! I have seen drywall sanders for inside corners, but never for curved outside corners. Looks like you one-up'ed me in the cool tool department again.

Thanks, guys.


Setting the recess depth.




I glued some discs together to make some feet.
After the glue dries, I will sand them smooth, then install them.
My work here is nearly done.
I hope my friend will show how they look after he finishes them, but that's up to him.

I did some initial sanding.




Then added clamps.



I'll do the final sanding tomorrow, then I'm done.
