Thanks for the update! I've also calibrated mine using a blue filter and the AVS 709 disc, and came up with similar settings... so I'm guessing our panels are very similar. I also figured out how to use my colorimeter and the program HCFR, so I was able to profile the TV... found out some very interesting things about the gamma!
mode, the gamma curve is a near perfect ~2.2 across the board.
mode, the gamma curve is below 2.2 in the blacks, and above 2.2 in the whites. It's sort of like a gamma "s-curve", where midtones are given more contrast, but lights and darks lose detail. Also, in this mode, I noticed that bright white is blueish, even after I calibrated to D65 using 30% & 80% white. It's probably like this to make whites appear brighter.
Also, your Gamma setting of -1 is a good choice; that results in 2.25, whereas the default is a little washed out at 2.15.
I'm thinking of starting a separate thread specifically for calibrations, so we can consolidate our findings (and people don't have to sift through 500 general posts to find them here).Edited by doggghouse - 7/31/12 at 10:25am
