Official Samsung UNXXEH6000 Owners' Thread - Page 30

I currently own the older LN46B750. I'm looking to upgrade to a 55". Taking the larger size out of the equation, is this TV's PQ at least as good as my current TV? I don't care about 2 HDMI and I don't need any apps.

Other than the size, is this set an upgrade over the LNXXB750?

I just checked my UN46EH6030 in the service menu and the "Type:" code is 46A6AF6D. It also shows up as a 6030 like it should.

Can anybody help me out wich Panel I got?

My Sticker on the back of the TV don't show any Txxx or Hxxx.

Service Menu says 46A1AF6D, the first A stands for Samsung so its a Samsung Panel?

That's for a 55" EH6050. Should be the same size. That's off the Samsung web site.
If push comes to shove you could take it out of the box and fold up the box. I had to do that once.
Just take something cushy to put the TV on.

My first post after reading through every comment (twice!) Thanks to everyone for all the GREAT input, comments, optional settings, and suggestions! I'm in the market for a basic, no frills Samsung 50" and the UN50EH6000 caught my eye and this is the only forum I've found with any REAL user information. You've all saved me a lot of time, headaches, returns and effort with this forum and once I secure a new one, I'll be checking out the various settings guides provided in detail.

After reading about the POTENTIAL issues seemingly associated with the various panels, (if it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck) I took a ride into my local (Bangor, Maine) Best Buy to check it out in person. They were looking at me cross-eyed as I attempted to explain just what I was looking for and the reasons until they took me over to a pile of "open" UNXXEH6000 TVs (2-46s & 2 50s) which had been returned and sure enough...all 4 of them had "VER CHO1" on the outside label! Coincidence? I think not!! Now that I had their attention, I asked if they'd go take a look outback at the new sets and tell me the version. Both 50" sets they had were more of the CH series so I passed on purchasing them for now. I should mention my BB isn't in a big city so they offered to take a look (via phone call) over the next few weeks as they constantly get in new stock but I don't know if you'll have that luxury elsewhere.

I was planning on purchasing from Amazon as I've had great success with them in the past but I'm wondering if they have any way of checking the panels first. I plan on speaking with customer service later on today and see what they tell me. My guess is they don't but it's worth a shot to save some tax $$ and gas $$ to go back to BB. At this writing $799 is the going price at BB, Wally World and Amazon down from the original SRP of $1249 (or $1149 depending on the source).

By the way, for those wondering, the panel version number is on the BOX (and as I think I understand) NOT on the TV itself. It was clearly labeled on the boxes of the TVs I saw at the bottom of the white label affixed to the box with the model number and UPC bar code. According to my notes, TS01 or TS02 are the preferred Samsung panels, HS01 or HS02 are the acceptable Sharp panels and CM01 or CM02 and the CH01 & CH02 panels are to be avoided. What a panel lottery nightmare but it seems worth the extra effort to find the 'correct' panel from what I've read in this thread.

Personal disclaimer! I'm a TOTAL novice in the flat screen TV world. I do understand the basics but I'm in NO way knowledgeable in the technical details and rely on the many personal opinions of those with experience. I try to take ALL comments into consideration and make a semi-informed consumer decision but it sure SEEMS to me there is a panel "issue" however some more comments regarding this specific detail might otherwise lead me down a different path.

Yep those are the dimensions for the EH6000 model also, from the website. But you never know as there could be typos.

How come the 50" EH6000 model is only $799 at BB even before Black Friday? May be because a lot of people returned the EH6000's as the BB lot didnt have the TSXX panels?

I don't think most people know anything about the panel differences. You just have to pay a lot more for the extra 10". Depends on what's on sale at the time also.

The 65" version of this set is coming up for a good deal on BF, from various places, tempted to take a chance on one.
$1500 is pretty good if it's at least as good as my present Samsungs 52B750 and 40b650.
Could really use a bigger screen for my family room.

I could live with a flaw or two provided it's not noticeable while watching actual content.
Would you all consider this a risk worth taking at that price?

un40eh6000 panel ts02 does anyone with an xbox 360 see this banding when bringing up the xbox guide in the menu? Also when i look very closely at the pixels they look different then usual they look like they are twisted and they also look like this in dark scenes in games/movies sometimes.

The 55" EH6000 is $879 at BB. Most likely this is the Black Friday price. The sales guy there has no clue where to find the version. This should not come as a surprise. I have to take a printout and show it to him.

What is the UN60EH6003FXZA model? Looks new at Best Buy. What is different?

I was going to ask a similar question.

The model number on Samsung website for a 55" EH series is UN55EH6000F where as at BB it is UN55EH6000FXZA. What is the difference? Just that this is for BestBuy like COSTCO models have a different number?

Anyone ordered a 65EH6000 from Amazon lately? If yes, can you please share what panel did you get?

Amazon has the 65EH6000 for $1497; looks like a decent deal, only if the panel is a Samsung.

I just bought a 55" 6030. I couldn't resist the $948 price at Best Buy this week. It looks like they removed it from the Black Friday deal and just made it that price all week. I asked what panel it had and he said they were all TH01 or TH02. Is that the same kind as the TS01 and TS02?

I won't get it delivered until early December because our new room won't be ready by then. They had a 60" 6000 for about $150 more. That was tempting but it might not fit our cabinet so I went with the 55" and 3D.

I had asked earlier in the thread about 60 or 65 sizes but no one has responded yet. I have looked at few 65"s at the local stores (6000 and 6550) and they all have been version MH-01. I haven't found any info about what panels these are. Hopefully we can get some responses from some other owners.

I asked this on the previous page and didn't really get a response. Would the picture on this device be as good as the older LNxxB750? I don't care about smart TV features. I only care about picture quality. Can anyone comment?

I think some do, but I"m not sure which ones. I've read the 50" doesn't use them. I don't really know about the other sizes as I was mainly looking into the 46" and smaller sizes.

So, I just price matched my original $850 un46eh6000 CS01 to $650 at BB. Instant $200 savings FTW. I also grabbed a un46eh6030 TS01 for $650 at BB. Props to plasma for unbelievably accurate calibration settings. However here's what I've noticed after 3 hours of viewing:

-60hz takes away from PQ - both my wife and I have noticed the picture isn't quite as crisp and detailed as the 6000's 120hz picture.

-3D is overrated and unecessary unless you're really into 3D movies.

-The colors and black levels are noticeably better on the 6030 (there's a strong possibility this is due to plasma's 6030 calibration settings).

-60hz 6030 video gaming on Xbox 360 is noticeably worse and displays a less crisp picture than the 120hz video gaming on the 6000.

-motion clarity is slighltly better on the 6030 and I'm not sure why because it lacks AMP (this may be because it's a TS01 panel).

-Vignetting IS visible on the 6030 TS01 and is identical to the Vignetting on my CS01 6000.

Other than those points, there really isn't much of a difference between the two models. 3D is cool to have but I personally believe it will phase out. In terms of having the best overall picture, my wife and I both believe the CS01 6000 wins. I highly doubt anyone can actually tell the difference between a 6000 with xxxx panel and another 6000 with a different panel. The bottom line is these direct lit LED samsungs are the best bang for your buck in this price range and at $650 they're a steal.

I'm looking at this TV and through this thread I learned about the different panels and their issues. So I called Amazon cust service to find out which version they're selling and they were of no help. Not even a mfr date. I was told to call Samsung to find out which versions are being sold and where.

As I understand it, I should be looking for a TXXX, HXXX, CXXX, in that order? Can anyone tell me how important it is that I get the right one? I'm trying to get the 55" model.

I just purchased the 55" from Amazon. I'll be sure to post which panel I get. I think I'm less picky than some people, but I'll also post if I see any defects in the panel.

Just got UN55EH6050 from Costco for 849.
Does anyone knows where can I get settings or somepone please post settings.

The EH6003 model seems to be the same as the EH6000 model. I really can't identify the differences. I just bought the 55EH6030 (basically the same set with 3d) and I love it. I see that I can now get the 60EH6003 for the same price though and get a 60". I don't care about the 3d, so that's moot... They seem the same other than that - full array (well, not full, but not edge either), NON swivel stand, same bezel, same number of HDMI inputs, etc... I did a compare on Samsungs website and it looks like they're the same sans 3d, AllShare, and WiFi readiness.

How did you get that price? I just called a store here in Arizona and the price they gave me was $1300, plus some change.

Never mind, Costco figured it out. They were not including the $520 mfr rebate.

We got the 46eh6000 from Target almost a month ago and is mostly for my Dad to use. My mom was really itching to get the new tv as the old crt was going bad quickly. I would have waited for a real nice sale price, but she saw a price reduction to $800 and decided to not wait any longer. With her discount the final price was decent($730 total). Of course, now the price just got slashed this week to $650. If we had just waited a few weeks we could have gotten a great bargain and walked out with this tv for $565 total. Ugh! A $50 difference wouldn't be a big deal, but I didn't expect the price to drop by $150+ It's a bit frustrating. Unfortunately, Target's price match/adjust is only good for 14 days after purchase.

thelawson, kudos for getting the price match at best buy. It appears they have a 30 day match policy.

I haven't watched the tv much, but at least the movies on tv are real nice. My Dad has seen all the old war movies(Patton, Midway, etc) a hundred times each, but now watching them on this 46" HD screen is a new experience. I also watched the opening sequence of Indiana Jones and the last Crusade(cable tv, not blu-ray) and it really was quite nice. I'm sure he'll love watching Band of Brothers in HD this upcoming weekend. From what I've seen the tv's motion might be a bit worse than my 4-yr-old sony 26" lcd(I think it has a TN panel).

I'm also curious if this panel "issue" is just in the EH line or is this common practice for Samsung (or others). I noticed at my local Sear's (a little catalog store) today who were kind enough to take me out back that ALL the Samsung models out in the warehouse storage room had a VERSION listed on the box sticker...

Back on Post #897 (Page 30), I saw TigerDave was kind enough to lay out and share a spreadsheet with many of the settings others have posted over the course of the thread which looks VERY handy to have once you've got your set in front of you. He even left a space for you to write yours in after. There's also plenty of other discussion just after that post and in the previous pages...
