Best HDMI 1.4 preamp?

I am looking to upgrade to a pre/pro and the main use will be movies via DirecTV or PS3. I plan to use a Wyred 4 Sound amp. Any recommendations regarding the best option, under 3000 for HDMI 1.4 with video upconversion and 7.1? Considering Integra DHC 80.3 and Rotel RSP-1572. I need 2 HDMI outputs, one for the PJ and one for the plasma. Thanks!

imo, your best option is to use a denon 4311 as a pre... available for less than half your budget...

Interesting. Anyone familiar with the surround sound and video quality of the Denon compared with the Rotel or Integra preamps combined with Wyred 4 Sound?

I'm a Rotel fan and have three of their amps in my system(RMB-1095 and two RB-1050) had even had one their processor years back. As much as I like Rotel the problem is that their receivers and pre/pros don't have any room correction like Pioneer, Denon, etc... Room correction makes a huge difference and is reason enough to go with Denon, Pioneer etc... IMO

Makes one wonder how audio/video enthusiasts ever lived without Room Equalization software all of those years.

I'm not quite sure but I believe you could get an Anthem AVM50v if you find an Anthem dealer willing to work with you, otherwise the Integra that you mention will probably be all you'll ever need.

I lived without it before it was introduced, but after hearing my Rotel RSP-1066 and a Pioneer VSX-92TXH with MCACC (both in my theater) I was sold. We lived without it because we didn't have it. Now that we do I can't go back.

I have BIC for now. Plan to add SVS PB-13 Ultra sub and not sure which speakers. Looking at PSB vs Paradigm??? Not sure.

unless you already have the w4s amp, you are likely throwing away money there...

the 4311 i mentioned will handle your speakers easily...

I am looking for a "pop"... My Yamaha does OK now but needs updated. Ideally, I would add airplay, video upscaling to 4K, ethernet connection, Pandora, room correction as well as the main requirement... 2 HDMI outs minimum. I will add speakers in the future. Ideally, I will add 2 SVS PB-13 ultra subs and a nice 5.1 then later, 7.1 setup. The room is 23x18x9ft.

well, since 2 hdmi outs is the most any avr has, good thing that's the minimum... keep in mind that the dual hdmi outs are not unique, they will both get the same thing, and it will be at the lowest common denominator...

4k is essentially worthless...

imo/ime, ideally you spend money on speakers/subs before avr...

I agree 4k is worthless, for now... And there will likely be better iterations in the future anyway. Would you argue one should buy Revel Performa F52 speakers and Denon 4311 ci, rather than Integra/Wyred4Sound and PSB Imagine T?
