Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

no one is excited about this one??? the videos are looking better and better!

I am. Already preordered
Am I excited? No. Interested? Yes. The Tom Clancy games have been so mediocre recently that I just don't have high hopes. It's easy to make things look awesome in videos, but lets wait and see for a bit. Also, not a huge fan of these invisibility camo's, which you know is going to be crap in multiplayer. I don't like the uber-futuristic kind of combat, keep it more in line with current tech, not tech that could be decades down the line.

Just my 2 cents.

its one of those games that I will always purchase. GR has never let me down.
I preordered the game on April of 2010. I've loved the GR series. My concern is maybe they are getting a little to techy in this game but we will see I guess.

+1

Give me the original GR style gameplay with updated graphics and I'd be all over it.

I recently got into GRAW1 and GRAW2 (yes, I'm a very late comer), and I have to say I hope the framerate of Future Soldier is solid like modern shooters.

While I've enjoyed Advanced Warfighter so far, the framerate is pretty bad.

I'm not going to judge the framerate of Future Soldier based on Youtube videos. Having created many videos and uploaded them to Youtube, I know how much of a challenge it is to get your videos to run properly on Youtube.

But from the gameplay vids, it's seems more fluid and the cover system seems more Gears-esque which is a very good thing. Though few games have done cover well. Mass Effect 3's average cover still shows how great Gears 3's cover is because I stick all over the place in ME3.

I could have swore I heard somewhere a year or two ago they were targeting 60fps for it. Then again this game seems to have been redone so many times, who even knows what it is anymore.

Either way if it's half as good as the first two GRAWs I'm all about it, but the games media seems really down on it, so there's some cause for concern that won't be the case.

Yeah I'm excited for this, I've loved the Ghost recon games over the years. I hope they do it justice. Can't say I'm happy with the camo nonsense.... we'll see. Probably not a day one purchase, but I'll eventually get it.

wow! If it is true that Future Soldier is 60 fps, my interest goes up. I just wanted a better framerate than GRAW1/2 and a solid 30.

I did some googling and only found one article but like you said, the article is old (from April 2010) and who knows if the current build maintains 60:
http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/12/gh...ldier-preview/

"The game is running at a constant 60 frames per second, which its developer says will hold true for the final version due this fall [2010]. Lighting, textures and effects were clearly not final, but the speed and fluid character animation made for thrilling action."

I can't believe the game was supposed to come out in 2010... Starting to encroach on Duke Nukem and Gran Turismo 5 territory...

I still kept Splinter Cell Conviction waiting for the beta for this game. I wonder if they will still release it.

Ah yes...Thunder island.

I still remember how cool it felt way back then, marching around with 4 or more friends over LIVE in GR when suddenly a shot would ring out and we would all panic and "duck for cover" and yell asking where the shot came from. Either that
or some yahoo in our group would open up on one "lone" soldier and the whole camp would come alive and the slaughter would begin.

Sorry for the hijack of thread.

I just got an emil from Ubisoft with my beta key. I haven't preordered the game and am not sure what I did to get the beta but will check it out. I was bummed when I read there will be no team deathmatch as that is the only game mode I enjoy but will try it anyway.
Looks like I need to find my splinter cell. Just checked the site and it says any player with splinter cell conviction can access the beta, they also sent out beta keys to random uplay accounts with 3 buddy keys, gamestop preorders should see an email and playstation plus members can all access the beta starting today.

I have the key but where do we download the beta? Is the beta up yet?

alright, I had the ultimate brain fart. register the code and then download. duh.
I'm in the beta and I've downloaded the demo but I can't seem to play-- just hangs at the loading screen while trying to join a match. Oh well, maybe I'll try again this weekend!

Speaking of: would love to get together with you guys to test drive this one!
