Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - Page 6

Think it's still all objective based TDM.

Arctic Strike July 17th!

Shamelessly stolen for
IGN:

In addition to three new multiplayer maps spanning Moscow to the Arctic, a Guerilla map, and two new weapons for each class, Arctic Strike includes a new competitive mode called Stockade. Arctic Strike has a $10 price tag, and could well be worth it given how awesome Future Soldier's multiplayer is.

Siege + double xp = me going up three levels in under an hour!

Decoy matches can be lengthy but rewarding!

Gamefly just sent me Spec Ops...played one multi match and I can see GRFS was the far superior purchase.

anyone reviews on the new maps?

Not that I've found. Least none on Metacritic. I'm debating whether I want to buy them or not myself. Probably will but it's a hard choice if they suck or I don't play in them often it's money wasted. Though snow looks fun to play in.
I thought about picking it up since I have a boat load of points but I guess I'll wait.
I will be playing them tonight and will report back. The achievements are BS for $10 though.
Found out that the hourglass in the after action report means your getting +50% XP for an hour.

I'm a little underwhelmed by the DLC so far. Stockade is just Siege mixed with objectives fun but not much different. Maps are ok nothing to write home about.

The new maps are decent, I haven't really played them enough for a final verdict, but I am loving the new gametype. It really changes how I play.

Their about the same as the other maps. I saw two I know, the rooftop and the Russian one. Wasn't there supposed to be a snow map too? Last night was pretty laggy and that may have contributed to my ire. F2000 is really cool though. Didn't get much time to mess with anything else.

The snow map is the new Guerilla mode map.

The two new engineer weapons are good for the stockage gametype.
That's right...haven't played much guerrilla yet.

Anybody get a black screen now when you load the campaign? I'd like to go back into it for the tasks but can't seem to chapter select.

Was on at 4AM today and there was zero lag. It was awesome. Played with what sounded like someone in France and maybe another from England but very little lag. Just died from sucking...

Man, what happened to this series? Played the campaign for an hour or so, and it just seemed so aggressively mediocre. As far as I could tell, all the squad control is gone? Or did I just not play enough to get to it? The graphics also seemed very meh....it was startlingly obvious this isnt a top tier production, and I've always thought of ghost recon that way.

Think it's only coordinated kills but haven't played the campaign in a while so memory is fuzzy.

I do agree this series isn't what it used to be. Was my favorite series but this one disappointed me.

Fortunately I don't have a history of these games so I thought GRFS was pretty cool. I picked up GRAW & GRAW 2 at the same time years ago. Since I got them both at the same time 2 looked better so a friend and I cooped it. I don't recall the experience as earth shattering but it was so long ago. The coop was good. Other than those three I've never played another Tom Clancy game.

Graphically this isn't the best out there but I didn't think it was horrible. The only nitpick I have is not having dedicated servers. I'm spoiled by BF3 and host migrations are grating. On the plus side there are no servers so the game has a longer shelf life.

The multi is really fun IMO. Once you get used to creeping around and some time under your belt. I have yet to be on a consistent team though other than losing. Some matches just seem lopsided but I'm guessing lag has a lot to do with the experience. I play another host based game and have mixed results with it too.

Raven Strike DLC is out. So far it's just like all other campaign missions. I've only made it into the first map a little bit but I'm already thinking these maps need to be fitted for multiplayer action. Didn't spend a whole lot of time on it but liked what I saw. The guerrilla map is about like the others nothing new.

This is probably a no-buy for me. This game is so disappointing. I have had at least 5 times, where I have been in matches, (running with a full party) usually having a good game, and it will stall, then I am in the menu. My whole team is still in the game, and winning. When I try to join on them, it says the match is full. (Which they verify). My only thought is I have been booted, by the game, in favor of another player that has a better connection. The servers are a joke, still. How in the world, with a full beta, and months of the game being out, are there still connection problems? Obviously, people have moved on to other games, and have no where near the amount of players as release, yet still "connection to Server Lost" abounds...
Not to mention the in game issues, (people stabbing you in the face through your bullets, hit markers all over your screen, yet killcam reveals completely different scenario...)
I have had multiple shooters that have bummed me out, (all but given up on COD, Gears 2 almost killed that series for me, thank God for G3) but I can literally say I hate this game.
Problem is its not server based but host based. Server portion is only for stats. Luckily I haven't had many issues, mostly host migrations or lag.

The new DLC showed up for 800 points even though it had been announced for 1,200 points so I snapped it up, but now it's back up to 1,200. I guess I should have posted something here about it. Sorry.

I got it for 800 too, thought the 1200 advertised was just a misprint. Someone saved me $5 and made it easier to pick up the DLC. If it was a launch sale we need more of those and if it was a fluke we need more of those too.
BTW, DLC raises our multiplayer cap to 70 as well. Don't really need the points but it's there.
Anybody try the backscatter out for the rifleman class? I tried incendiary first but was real curious how the backscatter was in multi. Seems like a really short range but I think I'm on board with it.
Finished the new DLC, wasn't bad but really like some of the maps and would like to see them incorporated into multi.
