Klipsch RF-82 vs Kef Q900??

We need more info size of room, listening preferences, and any existing equipment you are trying to integrate.

You seem to be looking for floorstanding speakers that are full-range.

The two that are WAY better than the competition IMO are the KEF Q900 and the PSB Image T6 speakers. IMO the Klipsch is 3rd-rate by comparison to either one; it has an unpleasant midrange sound to my ears.

The Q900 has more bass, but I don't find the overall sound quite as nice for music listening as the Image T6. I did a lot of listening to both of them (and several others) and picked the T6. I have had them for a year now and love them.

The Monitor Audio Silver RX-8 is also a very good speaker, for around $1700, but I still found the Image T6 better, and a bit cheaper to boot.

When I was shopping, I listened to all of the top-rated speakers under $2000, and I stilll came back to the T6. It's my choice. I find it really excellent, and a real steal at only $1300.

See this is where personal preference comes into play. I much prefer the Klipsch, however I use the mainly for movies and enjoy the upfront sound.

The only good suggestion that anyone can give you is to go listen to them all and make your decision that way. We can all give our opinions, but none of them really matter to what your ears like.

If possible listening to them is the way to choose.
Its not a clear cut victory but I personally like the KEF towers you listed a little more than that particular Klipsch.
But you also need to consider the center channel speaker and if you plan to get the Klipsch RC62 it is great.
I have not heard any of the KEF center channel speakers so I have no opinion there.

Between the 2, I would get KEF Q900 all the way. No doubt in my mind for a second.

The Q900 is more accurate IMO. Also commands a lot more respect and reputation.

I recommend the Philharmonic 1 speakers for $1,600.

Exceptional value. It seems a lot of speakers may only cost $400 to make, yet are marked up to $4,000 MSRP. Not so with these Philharmonic. The parts cost for the Phil1 is ~ $1,000+. Very little markup.

JTR Triple 8HT WELL worth the extra and know that you will never need for another upgrade, unless you could save up a little more and get the Triple 12HT and be in an elite league and envy of anyone that comes over to listen.

I listened to the klipsch rf-83 and I liked the efficiency and the clarity, but was too harsh for my ears in the treble dept. monitor audio was too laid back for me. I found a happy medium with Paradigm monitor 9s. Had the dynamics, clarity and efficiency without being harsh. Audition and decide what you like.
