Yes, like I said ... my approach may not be realistic for most rooms from a physical, esthetic, or wife approval standpoint. Fortunately, I am not married so my live-in GF still lets me do whatever I want. I assume that would change if I married her...

I like the ATC Speakers a lot. It is rare to find people using them so congrats on a great choice.
In my next home, I plan to build a dedicated theater to my specs ... right down to the floor system, electrical, and room isolation. It will be built to accommodate my tweaks the way I would like to have them.
Until then, my current Home Theater and Stereo are compromises with respect to my ideal. However, I can get reasonably close to what I qualify as acceptable performance even with these compromises ... and that makes me happy ... for now..

For 2 channel I just bought a Trinnov processor which does an amazing job.
I`m all about fidelity and faithfulness to source but room acoustics are what they are and measurable errors abound even in this custom, dedicated room. I agree with your thoughts about ATC being good for mastering AND listening. I have a full active ATC setup and it has dynamics to spare without being ruthless or unenjoyable.
