LG has not had the best of reputations in the past for their plasmas, but considering the reported problems for Samsung & Panasonic in 2011 it just might be a good buy - and that seems like a Very Attractive Price!

OTOH, am less enthralled with shipping & return policies per vendor's website:

Quote:

Motor Freight delivery is to your curb, drivers cannot assist moving the TV into your home.
You will be able to schedule delivery so you can be present to accept and inspect your TV upon delivery.
Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt of your TV.

"Curb Side" delivery is a bother, particularly at this time of year, and it would be fun to inspect the set outside... But perhaps you can upgrade to Inside or "White Glove?"

Pcrichards on the easy coast has the same price. Don't know where they ship too though

Anyone get this deal? Now that they extended it a few days I think I am going to get it. Seems to be $150-200 cheaper than I can find anywhere else. Seems like a great deal for LG`s top of the line 60" plasma.

I thought they extended it a couple days too... but when I went to check it a little while ago, it was at like 4 hours left

Ya, I just refreshed it says 3 hours, but the print says expires on 3-3, not sure which is right.

I posted this in the other thread here ....

I bought it ... allegedly the shipping company had received it. I called yesterday but wasn't scanned in and was told to call back today. Called back today and shipping company still doesn't have it in their system. The shipping company took my number and had OneCall call me back. (excellent customer service there, its called being proactive ... nice to see that for a change) Stating the TV was definitely given to shipping company BUT it was extremely large number of tvs and probably wont be scanned till tonight or tomorrow morning.
I said no problem but wanted to know where it was shipped out from at least so i have a general idea how long. Customer service at OneCall said the TV ships from West Virgina. I'm on the east coast so i hope this is a good thing ...

I couldn't find the TV at PC Richard(S) at all ... maybe they sold out ?

I ordered this and called the shipping company. Luckily I am able to go pick up the TV and not wait around for curbside delivery.

Thanks to whoever said to use Discover as they give 15% cash back through Groupon. No tax no delievery fee as well. Great Deal.

Fry's had the 50" version of this TV instore for $799 on Sunday only. While blacks may not be quite as good as Samsung or Panasonic, still a great price on a very nice TV.
If the poor blacks bother you enough here is a 38 page thread on internally adjusting the black levels.

Just grabbed one from microcenter for $1099. I originally bought the 55 inch ST30 panny from target but after reading about some of the issues I went for the bigger 60 inch. I'm sure the panny has better blacks, etc but I wanted the size plus the LG has wifi and apps my wife wanted. Smoked deals these days .. awesome!

And the 50" 950 is at $799 again this weekend at Fry's, but they are now in short supply. But considering that original MSRP was $1699, that is a great price on the top of the line LG plasma. Nice thin bezel with one sheet of glass design.

I'm tempted to jump on this one, but am a bit nervous about Frys.com. I googled around and there were a bunch of horror stories (especially around ordering large TVs for delivery.) I know many times the problems sound alot worse (and people who ordered with no problems don't normally post feedback.)

I would buy with my Amex card which has some additional protection, but still a little worried.

Anybody here buy a big tv that gets shipped from Frys? This TV seems like a great deal (and perfect for what I need).

It's definitely the 60PZ950. They have it advertised in their print ad right now.
It's not on their website though. I called our local one her in stl and they
had 2 in stock Friday. I went in and bought one no problem. Smokin deal if you
have a micro center in your area.

Also lets not forget about this. Search "lg tv remote" in your smart phone app store. FREE. Remote that controls the tv thru your wifi (i dont really know how it does it but it does). Volume & channels and other stuff. Other than to aggravate the kids i dont need it because i still have the remotes too ... But its cool to have :0)
