And I can't decide if these speakers are overkill for me, since I'll be 8feet away from them.

What is the minimum wpc that is required from an amp/integrated amp to power the Triple 12HT-LPs?

The Website dimensions are incorrect. The JTR Forum has the correct dimensions for the T12LP

The Triple 12HT-lp is a sealed version of the Triple 12HT that is smaller in all dimensions. The Triple 12HT-lp is voiced to work well near boundaries (walls) or in baffles.

Features:
Unique annular diaphragm compression driver
Ultra low moving mass, sealed back midrange that can be mounted in any position
· Flushed drivers
· Fabric covered magnet grills
· Matte black finish
· Custom wood finishes available
· Heavily braced 1 thick, void free, Baltic Birch plywood
· 38" x 13.5" x 12.5
· 65hz-20khz
· 101db at 1 watt
· up to 1600 watts recommended amp (program)

They are very efficient and so require less power but if you want big SLP then some powerful amps are in order. Several owners use AVR's and are happy with the performance.

I got in touch with Jeff and will take the plunge, on monday 4-30-12, my order for t12's-lp's LCR will be placed. After searching around for speakers to update my system, reading many interesting stories about JTR's. I really became a believer having read seen photo's of RMK's systems evolution, having many different speaker setups of quality that i also am a fan of helped me decide. Thanks! Funny thing i've had three home theaters that i put together myself over 20yrs in seperate homes and i still get crazy excited when hearing the many wonderful ideas people come up with. Photo's always help tell the story in a much more intersting way. I'll post some photo's when i'm setup. I hope the JTR's get here asap, can't wait.

That's great news, I'm glad for you and happy that you enjoyed my system evolution. Of course, everyone's tastes are different but for HT, dynamics, dialog clarity and just the honest (uncolored) reproduction of the audio track were my priorities. The JTR's provide all of those qualities and they are as good or better than anything else I have heard and I have heard some great setups. In fact there are times when I thought maybe this other system sounds better only to come home, fire it up and have any doubts immediately put to rest. I know there are other great products out there but honestly, I would not trade them for anything.

Are you going to be using an AT screen? Please do post photo's of your install.

No A.T. screen for now. I'm using a 10'6" da-lite high power screen and really enjoy the quality of brightness it provides. Maybe after cedia in the fall i'll see what new projectors come out from panasonic and how bright they are. My current projector is a AE4000u panny, the AE7000u is brighter so i'll see what they do this time around. I usually change projectors every two years, so maybe something will break that'll catch my interest. Hope to have all my rear/side and back JTR's in place by then, for now i'll use the current speakers for the sides and rears that i have. I'm into having multiple side rears, i have (a)sides, (b) sides dipoles and (c) sides that are front firing. And I must say I do love the way RMK's AT screen looks so we will see!

johnnybgood,

Here is a thread in the dedicated HT section of a JTR setup.

I don't know if your stands will be hidden but he used stands meant for workshop use. They are not pretty but they are something like $20 and hold maybe up to 1000 lbs? There is a link somewhere in there.

My speakers will be behind a screen so I am thinking of these stands if I end up needing stands in the first place.

That is an interesting surround sound setup. Are you splitting the surround channels for those extra side surrounds? How big is the room? This is a little OT (apologies to the OP) so maybe we should take this to the JTR Speaker Thread ...
