I'm trying to design a basement home system based on JBL pro gear.
I'm planning on using JBL-3678 for the LCR and 4x 8320's for the surround. If If can find a used 4645c or 4642a I'll use that for the sub.
I'd like to use a Denon 3112 reciever, and run the 3678's biamped.
I'm trying to figure out: how far do I need to go in the amplifier department? I could theoretically get just one for the sub and run everything else off the reciever, or I could go as far as Crown DSI-1000's x 2 for the surrounds and x4 for the LCR and sub. Perhaps an intermediate would be an Emotiva 5-channel out and one DSI 2000 for the sub.
Do I need a separate crossover? Don't the DSI's have that built in?
Is there a way to use DSI-1000's for the HF and 2000's for the LF? That would be a more efficient use of the amps, but I'm imaging I would definitely need a crossover then.
Thanks for any advice! Xev
