Two more from TT:

As per usual the Sony transfer looks more impressive in the caps then Fox. Flint is a a good film btw.

I am really hoping that Nicholas and Alexandra will be well done.........lots of white spec's on the dvd and weak sound quality with the great soundtrack. I believe this was the best picture of 1971 and they got the shaft at the Oscar's that year.

So when will Christine be up for pre order?
More forthcoming titles:

April 9th
At Long Last Love (1975)

May 14th
Leave Her to Heaven (1945)
Philadelphia (1993)

June 11th
The Driver (1978)
Hard Times (1975)
The Only Game in Town (1970)

Interestingly, At Long Last Love won't be a limited edition.

Also, The Song of Bernadette has been bumped up to March 26th to get it out before Easter.

Outstanding! Walter Hill's first film. Charles Bronson and James Coburn. I reviewed that here.

Nice!

Is it up for pre-order yet?

Feb 15th at 4pm, I would make sure to be there at that exact time. I wouldn't be shocked if this sold out in days, maybe even hours. This title is that much more popular than Night of the Living Dead and probably even Fright Night. You combine the awareness of Screen Archives, the popularity of the title and then a healthy dash of scalpers and it's going to move.

Finally got my two copies of Christine ordered, only took 20 minutes with their backwater POS site being bogged down by more than 3 people trying to order at once. They started an hour later than originally advertised, I really wish this thing with them and Sony would end. Ordering two copies is my way of getting back at them, it'll be sold out, eBay prices will go way up and I'll sell the second copy, thus getting Christine for free, plus interest most likely.

Think The Fury will sell out? I'd like to have that on BD as well, but not sure it's popular enough to sell out, and I'm not paying $30 for it, I would only do what I am doing with Christine

Thanks for the reminder. Christine pre-order is in. I hope this turns out better than NOTLD'90 biggrin.gif

Same here, not that I wouldn't watch it even if the PQ was bad. It's in the collection no matter what.

Sorry I abandoned the OP, guys. Huddler is just to much of a struggle. If this was Vbulletin I could update the op with my eyes closed. Everything is screwed up with Huddler. Double spaces, different fonts, It's just to hard for me. I see somebody else must have added the last 4 titles in the OP. I didn't.

It's sad that they made so few copies of Christine and that so many of those get scalped. I think it's obscene to charge so much. Guess I won't be seeing this on bluray, sadly.

Only hope of seeing a decent version of this outside of BD is if it appears on HDNet Movies. One would think that, after FRIGHT NIGHT, they might have opted for 4 or 5 thousand...unless it's not allowed contractually.

Sony is beginning to release some TT titles in Europe, so it's not completely hopeless.

Caps-a-holic has posted comparisons for both Christine and Night Of The Living Dead.

By any chance was one of them "As Good As It Gets?" If it wasn't region locked, that is! Too bad Sony didn't do a better transfer of this Oscar winner.

Yep, As Good as It Gets is one of them. It comes out in Germany next month -- not sure if it'll be released elsewhere, but it's pretty likely. The Blue Lagoon and Philadelphia will also be getting German releases soon (no pre-order for Philadelphia on Amazon yet, but it's due in June). Given Sony's history they should be region-free, but there's no way to know for sure until they actually come out.

Would that "other" release be a UHD version of the film? smile.gif I'll only upgrade if the TV's are not astronomically priced (I'm not spending $8,000 or even $20,000... forget that!) and they have a viable physical disc option. The proprietary download only schemes being floated around right now make my hair stand on end.

Don't do downloads....I am an "old school" disk kinda guy and the TT price rubs me the wrong way.wink.gif
