Well I just decided to make my 5.1 theater system bass worthy. I already have a set of Polk Monitor 40s as fronts a nice CS2 center and Monitor 30s as surround. I sold my Klipsch sub 12 to release funds for a nice sub. Ordered the following:

4x T3 Audio T.400 12s (400w rms each)

Behringer EP4000 amp (2400w rms @ 4 ohms) (Not in yet)

MDF (lol) (Box will be sealed 1.5 Cu.Ft per sub)

Here is my set-up as-is:

The subs:

Random AQ amp because my BTL is being reconed

Will update when I get my amp and get started building the enclosure

Have fun with it man! I can tell you that you may not need MDF for your build. 3/4" ply may do just fine. Are you planning on 4 separate boxes or combining them somehow?

Too late :P I already ordered the MDF, and I plan on building a tall tower with each sub separately chambered 1.5 cubic feet per sub. I have a quick question, when I look at the manufacturer recommended specs it says the recommended sealed volume is 1 cubic foot. How will having 50% more volume affect the sound? Idk if this will help but here are the available t/s parameters:

*Power handling: 400 watts RMS/800 watts peak *VCdia: 2" *Le: 2.35 mH *Impedance: 4 ohms *Re: 4.25 ohms *Frequency response: 30-1,000 Hz *Fs: 33 Hz *SPL: 88.10 dB 1W/1m *Vas: 1.58 cu. ft. *Qms: 8.52 *Qes: 0.84 *Qts: 0.76 *Xmax: 16.5 mm *Dimensions: Outside diameter: 12.70 in

Also do you guys think these will get low (as in 22-25hz)? I tried to pick the speakers with the highest xmax within my very small budget.

4 of these in a sealed cab will do just over 110db down to 20hz with less than 100 watts. And thats without any room gain. Should be decent.

Well I was trying to enjoy my install when I was interrupted by cops... I guess that's a good sign.
...Haven't gotten a chance to clean the sawdust off yet

The sound qualities way better than I expected from car audio subs but then again I may be easily impressed because I am used to car audio SPL subs. Honestly sounds amazing.

"Well I was trying to enjoy my install when I was interrupted by cops..."

just for consideration...maybe somebody else was trying to enjoy their sleep and not all folks have the luxury of sleeping during common hours. big bass is awesome...all the way up to the point that it starts disturbing the peace, then it's not cool. i don't know your situation and i'll admit that sometimes there is a "constant complainer" or "neighborhood nanny", but as a first pass, the cops didn't interrupt your enjoyment for their pleasure, they showed up because you were wrecking somebody elses ambience (watching television, homework night, etc).

wouldn't things be so much better if neighbors just talked to neighbors instead of calling the police? imho, calling the police should be a last resort, not a first frick'n phone call. e.g., if your neighbor said to you that you were keeping her child from sleeping, you'd turn the stuff down. problem solved. no cops.

sorry for the rant guys.

That is true. I agree 100% I just wasn't expecting it when the house nearest me is over 70ft away. How do you guys enjoy your sound system when people complain?

Yeah it would awesome if people communicated instead of instantly picking up a phone and dialing a number.

well, i once had a next door neighbor who liked to blast his stuff as much as i liked to blast mine. but that was in college and i was shooting for grades, so sunday night through wednesday night, i had to study hard and the bass was very distracting. i simply shared with him my situation and he actually apologized even though he hadn't done anything wrong and for the whole time that we were neighbors, he kept it turned down sunday through wednesday nights and i never complained when he cranked it at any other time. that used to be called a give-and-get solution, now we call it a win-win.
