Hoping to pick one up tonight at target. I called 8.

I don't think any Targets in Minnesota have it in stock. I wish I could find a 50"

Got one in Eastern PA. It's a May build but with a 1300ish serial number. I haven't checked for FBR yet. I just took the box top off and turned it on to see if the panel was okay. Looks sweet. I'll start slides tomorrow. Very excited. Woo hoo.

This is back..... why am I WAITING!!!

I just can't pull the trigger. Even with the 5% from Chase, I am still hesitant. This is what I have been waiting for!!!!

haha, although I was hoping it would go a little lower. But with Amazon 14 low price guarantee, I might just do it

pull the trigger man. double check your chase benefits, you probably have a 60 day price protection with the card, most people do on most cards, along with an extended warranty for free
put it on the chase card, and watch for a lower price. thats what i did / am doing

I took the plunge......in for one w/ Chase 5%, better delivery set-up, better return policy......etc.

Fingers crossed and hoping for the best now.

Yeah, I just went ahead and did it. Thanks for the tips and let me know anything you see/find out. Especially on Amazon approved lower price situations. ha

I am looking for some cheap 3D glasses now. ha

I had Sears price match Target. Plus Sears gives you 10% of the difference so I got it for $890. If you need a printout to price match, go to www.slickdeals.com.

anyone have success getting Amazon to price match from this?

Thanks eliteconcept, I took your photo to my Sears and they honored their matching prices. I phone called Bestbuy and they gave me some grief about price matching so I didn't try them.

Something that could be VERY IMPORTANT but not talked about here is that these TV's are VERY EXPENSIVE for repairs beyond the standard manufacturers warranty. The TV maybe less money elsewhere but if you look at the cost for an extended warranty (which in my opinion is worth every penny as I found out the hard way), the total cost could be a few hundred more for the total with the extended warranty included. For example, at Sears or Best Buy the extended warranties are significantly more than the Square Trade warranty offered through Amazon for 3 years which is only $119.99 (4yr $160.99) or at Costco which is even less money (Costco doesn't have the Panny, just an example) so the overall cost with warranty included can be a lot more even though the TV may be slightly less from any given store. Just my 2cents for something to consider.

Good tip.... I am just now starting to look into Square Trade for my purchase through Amazon. I found it is pretty common for them to offer 20%-30% off codes pretty regularly. thus bringing it to $70-$80 for a 3yr

Still $999 from Amazon at this moment, boy, I would LOVE to pull the trigger! Which toy to choose in a bad economy, another subwoofer or this Panny!

I am hoping it goes down so I can get a price adjustment....

but I don't really see much of a drop coming.

Sears has this also advertised online now for $999.00 FYI

CostCo will sell the SquareTrade warranty on a TV purchased elsewhere. Just need to do so within 60 days of purchase.

Then again, the $120 price quoted as being from Amazon seems a LOT lower than recall seeing in the past: have the prices gone down on the extended warranty?

Didn't realize that about the Costo, great tip! My guess is that the lower prices are due to the SquareTrade itself as the extended warranties from other companies such as Techshield which OneCall.com uses are $271.95 versus the $160.99 price from Amazon(both 4year). CompUSA has the SquareTrade 4 year extended at $145.98. There is room to play on what they charge for those warranties as a few years ago I saw a price sheet on the sell price versus dealer cost for what those warranties cost the company that sells them.
