"Official" Denon App control thread (DenONOFF, Denon App etc) - Page 2

I'm using version 3.5.1. What's weird is that I don't have a settings button and I don't see a way to access the Audessey and Settings screens shown in iTunes.

Edit: Nevermind, if I press and hold the fifth soft button, I can access the other menus, but I don't know if that will allow you to select a source.

hi there,

I have problems with accessing my media server files in the Denon remote app - on the Denon 2113 I can navigate on my NAS, enter folders etc, but in parallel my Denon remote app keeps on searching / does not show any content. I even got some "access denied" errors, could anybody give me a hint on how this can be resolved? Denon 2113 is on latest firmware..

if you need more info just let me know - for my understanding this is an issue on the remote app?

Thanks and best regards

anyone know if Denon is planing a native iPad version? Anyone know how to give feedback to request they work on one?
No official word from Denon as to whether it's being worked on or not.

Hi. Question:

When I watch TV I get sound from the TV to the Denon through the ARC/HDMI interface. This seems to activate automatically when I turn on the TV and switch to antenna input. Nice; I like it.

When I use the4 Denon control app and switch to another source, say iRadio, I cannot figure out how to switch back to to listen to the TV! There is no TV source in the selection list on the remote app.

Any ideas?

Does anyone know if this app will operate more than one system? Say I have a Denon AVR -2312Ci in the basement and a Denon DRA-N5 CEOL in a bedroom upstairs would the Denon app be able to control both of these? I can't seem to find this information anywhere.

Is your DRA-N5 on your network? If so, you can select devices, but only one receiver at a time. Also, I would read post #2 in this thread about compatible devices.
I must be reading over it or something because I just don't see it. Anyway as long as it will control more than just one devise (not necessarily at the same time) I will be happy.
Yes the Denon DRA-N5 CEOL will be hooked up to the Net, I plan to get this for my wife for Christmas so that she can listen to her music and control it with her iPad.
Thanks for the help

DeRemote can control more than one device. I have an AVP and AVR4311CI, and it sees them both.

Hello, I have a 1613 on the way and have been told that the Denon Iphone app does not allow you to "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" a song while listening to Pandora. If this is true, can anyone tell me if any of the other apps allow you to do that?
I don't think any do. I don't think denon allows that. Sucks.

I've been with the 4311 for a couple of weeks now and love it. I just learned this app was available and just got the iphone5 so I downloaded it. I have what probably is a REAL stupid question I'm sure, but do i have to network the receiver before I can get this app to see it? I haven't had time to rip apart the ceiling and run the 50' cable yet.

thanks

Touch again the currently selected (blue) icon at the bottom. This should show the list of all available functions. From the list, select "A/V Sources".
Please also check the AppStore if the latest version is installed...

Hi guys. I am wondering where to get the official Denon Android app for my phone. I searched on the Android Market, but I don't see anything made by Denon, just third party guys.

Can anyone tell me where to look, please?
The official app is listed as being from D+M, ie. Denon + Marantz.

Question about the Denon Remote App for iPhone:

I can't get source/input buttons to work - for example if I put CBL/SAT in one of the slots, it's greyed out. I'm only able to change sources by assigning Quickselect to one of the slots. Anyone know how this works?

Also wondering about the Status button on the unit itself (I have a 1713). It's handy being able to see how many channels are playing, the sampling rate, etc. as I'm often playing files from my computer, and want to verify they're playing correctly... so I've been using this button quite a bit. But it's on the unit (requiring getting up). Is there a way to display Status information onscreen, using the remote (or remote app)?

Thanks,

Chris

There is a current glitch on the Denon Pandora, whereby random songs may give you choice to skip to next track and may or may not give you a button choice to a menu that allows you to choose "thumbs up" or "thumbs down".

Until they fix this, I will use my Pandora much of the time on my TiVo which works better. I am hoping for a fix in the next couple months, but I would not hold my breath. The TiVo works well, since there are even remote buttons for thumbs up and thumbs down, rather than having to click several menu choices.

If it is important to you, write Denon, I already have, about the Pandora issues. I think the inability to skip songs I do not want to hear and to mark some thumbs up and thumbs down are nice features of Pandora, and Denon's is not currently working.

The volume display on my denon remote app (iPhone) suddenly is reading 50 db lower than the actual volume.

This was working fine yesterday. Now today the unit display and monitor reads 50 while the app display reads -30. Any idea what may have happened?
Remote app stopped working on ipad. works on iphone though. The app takes me straight to settings screen and usually there is a 'Done' button on the top right to exit from setting but I don't see that now.

Anyone has similar issue or know how to make it work?
Have you tried rebooting the Ipad (slide to turn off, then start it up). If that doesn't work, delete and reinstall the denon app.
I tired both but neither worked. I connected to itunes and brought back what was backed up prior to this behavior and that did not work either. I have Denon 1913 if that helps. Its really strange and frustrating.
Are there other reliable remote apps that can used if this is not corrected?
Ummm, sounds like the issue might be the denon. You might want to reset the demon, but that means resetting all the custom settings you made on the receiver.
^^
Prior to doing a reset on the 1913 (or the 2312CI for that matter), you can use the Web Control feature (1913 - p. 89, 2312CI - p. 77) to backup the config.dat file to a PC which will include any custom user setup changes made as well as the Audyssey settings.

Refer to the post below on precautions to take to ensure the SAVE file is valid, otherwise it won't LOAD properly.

Thank you all. Prior to resetting, I tired to manually enter the Denon IP address in the Settings on my IPad Remote App. I got this IP address from Network Settings on Denon and it worked. Finally!!

Good day,
Receiver: Denon 3808
App: DeRemote
Device: Iphone 4S
Zone 1: home theater
Zone 2: stereo speakers (no video)

I seem to have complete functionality for Zone 1 but limited for Zone 2.

Any source that is connected by HDMI will not play in Zone 2. HDMI devices such as Laptop, PS3 only work on Zone 1 , I can only listen to internet radio and tuner in Zone 2. I would love to have access to all sources for all zones. I know that the secondary devices must be turned on and producing a signal prior to accessing remotely through DeRemote. I'm only interested in the audio portion of the signal but wonder if the video portion is causing problems.

Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions?
HDMI sources cannot play to Zone 2 (a limitation of 99% of AVRs on the market today), rather only analog and PCM 2.0 over optical/digital coax, and the 3808CI is one of only a handful of units that can do the optical/digital coax conversion as the vast majority of AVRs can only pass external sources connected with an analog cable.

I'm currently running a denon avr-1912 and a 1713ud blu ray player. Have ascribed a static ip to the blu ray player but the app will only recognise the avr? So frustrating! Any advice?
Thanks for putting that issue to bed for me. Good to know. I'll have to evaluate how important having the Zone 2 capabilities are and see if another way of connecting would be worth the attempting.
