BTW she said this is the first she heard of this problem. YEAH RIGHT!!!!

I've seen the reboot or signal loss issue from my PS3 which is on HDMI 2. It did that soon after a firmware update but it did it twice in a row and hasn't happened since then.

I noticed that sharp added some built in games and other apps to the 844 (you need to hit the media button twice) unfortunately none of them work. every one of the games fails to launch , actually none of t he new apps work at all.
I even did a reset and still just a blank screen if I try to run them. all the original apps work fine.

Has anyone gotten any of-the new built in games/apps to work on this tv ?

Hello all, new owner new forum member.

Need help, I may have changed a stetting, my Smart Central key on my remote stopped working. Net flick, Hulu and Vudu buttons work, so I know my wireless is working. When I hit the button the screen goes dark, hit it again and the picture comes back as a small format on the right side of the screen. Have to turn the tv off/on to get my full size picture back. Any idea's? Thanks!

For those of you 844 users looking to expand their 3D library, Best Buy has 55 3D Bluray disks on sale this week with about 32 of them being sold for $14.99. smile.gif

Amazon has price matched many of these too, 3D looks great on this large of a display

I still occasionally (~once a week) get a black screen for about a second or less. It is not the reboot problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

I see Future Shop in Canada is selling the Sony active shutter 3D glasses for 19.99. That's the lowest price I've ever seen. I have a couple of pairs of them and they work fine with my 24" Sony 3D monitor. Built-in Li-Ion battery which USB port charges. I believe they will work fine with the 844 (assuming it uses infra-red NOT Bluetooth)

Perhaps someone can confirm. I'm sure these will sell out quickly.......biggrin.gif

well I got myself a little gift (if you can use that terminology....) a new Toshiba Excite 13 tablet. its a 13.3 inch tablet (hey I couldnt go small with anything I do)

Had to be sneaky to get it into the states as for some off reason its been available everywhere else for months.

Anyways, playing around in the android app store I see there is a remote control app from sharp

I present to you a size appropriate remote for the 844. And the best part is it does not require line of site like the stupid oem remote.

Yes.... I get bored easy smile.gif

Anyone know if it's possible to turn off those 3D viewing time notices that pop up as you're watching 3d content? They're super annoying...
^Menu, System options, 3D setup, Viewing time info, NO

Today, Sharp is taking the 80-inch class TV to a new dimension with the launch of the new LC-80LE844U. Available in April, the full HD 1080p LC- 80LE844U features a vivid 3D image, employing Sharp’s Quattron technology with full array LED backlighting and a newly developed 240Hz AQUOS LCD panel to virtually eliminate blur during fast- moving video. The LC-80LE844U also boasts built-in WiFi, 4 HDMI® inputs and the new SmartCentral user interface.9.gif

i have not notice any game lag if you put the tv on the input of game...
if you put another input like standard or any other one you will see a tremendous lag on video game....

Just had the dreaded re-boot again. I haven't had it in weeks. Has anyone else experienced it lately?

Just had Chad B at my place for 10 hours on Saturday. Wall mounted 844 in a new home with a new home theater installation to go with it. Chad did both the video and audio calibration.

I can’t tell you how stunning the results on both were. Was very fortunate to catch him on a Florida swing. He is meticulous on the small details and the results show it. (No... I’m not related to him, nor do I owe him money).

It’s just difficult to find people that do great work these days, so I pass along endorsements when people earn them!

Do you know how to access Chad's schedule? I'd like to know if he ever calibrates in SC.

I was supposed to get a replacement unit mid November but I have yet to hear from Sharp on this. I'm surprised that Sharp doesn't have any new units of this TV to do a replacement in over a month. I wonder if they stopped production on this because there is update or new model coming up. Any insights?

Thanks.

Sharp declaring bankruptcy?
After doing a little searching lo and behold. Sharp looking bad due to competition from Korea and China and in fact just might declare bankruptcy.

Man, I was looking at a 847U.....
