I know many 44U 80inch Sharp owners have bought different  3D styles to compare.

Thank you.

There are a few different options, but if you search through the thread there are only a handful of opinions or feedback on them that I could find. I asked as you have but I haven't been able to get much feedback on comparisons, so here's my 2 cents - I went with both of the Sharp offerings...the standard G20B and the newer G30.

The G20Bs are the more expensive of the two, but I did get a good deal online so not too much more. They are not uncomfortable, but are a bit nose heavy. They are bigger, which was better for my Wife with rx glasses. I also like the lens size as I wasn't distracted by seeing the frames. They (for me) had a slight light reflection from the TV in the upper part of the lenses or the frame. I found if I changed the angle by moving the glasses around or the ear pieces up it was better. They, to my eye, had the truest color representation and sharpest picture.

I found the G30s to be lighter and more comfortable, plus they didn't have that upper reflection of the screen light in them. They did however have a brownish/orangeish tint to them, and to my eye the picture appeared less sharp. The lenses are smaller, so you will see the frames a bit as you watch TV (think sunglasses size rather than 3d glasses).

Hope that helps. I don't think you can go wrong either way...had I just gotten the less expensive G30s I probably would have been completely happy with them, but since I got both and did a bunch of side by side comparisons I went with the G20Bs.

I know that there are several options for 3D glasses. However, I am a firm believer of 1st party accessories. I personally went with the AN3DG20B model for my TV. But they do seem to be the most expensive of all the glasses.

Which bracket is the best to hold up the Sharp 80 inch 135 pound tv?

Only tilt needed.

I have a 3 year old, so it has to be sturdy!

Sanus LT25B1 ??

Sanus LL11 was the bracket for me since I dont use tilt. But that LT25B1 seems to be the perfect solution for a tilting bracket that doesnt cost too much $$.

I have the Sharp 80LE844U & Denon AVR-2313CI
Connection is via HDMI
Both units have the latest firmware updates.

Components fee to receiver are an XBox 360 & OPPO 103 via HDMI

ISSUE: When watching OPPO or using XBox I randomly get black outs on the TV - no picture at all - sound continues.
It seems like the TV is losing the signal or there is a break in the signal.

I have a cable box hooked directly to the TV via HDMI and do not have this issue.
HDMI cables are new, using cable supplies with OPPO

I have tried messing with all sorts of settings on both the Receiver and TV and can not rectify the problem.

I really hope ur denon is new. I had the exact problem with bose. So when i called the bose techs, they tried their best to convince its the tv thats faulty. They brought a spare reciever with them anyway. After they swapped, didnt have this issue anymore.

Prior to calling bose, i had tried swapping n borrowing hdmi cables. Still the same issue. However, when the bluray or cable is connected directly to tv, no issue.

Let me know how it compares on your set.

Just picked up this set today and these were the first setting I tried, so far they look great! I have DirecTV, PS3 and Apple TV hooked up through a new Pioneer Elite VSX-60. The Pioneer was upscaling initially so I turned that off. That and some of the motion enhancements getting turned off fixed some initial lip sync issues I was seeing. Can't wait to play with this more tomorrow and try the 3D!

What is another tilt mount besides the LT25B1?

Reading about it, does not give me the feeling of strength with little kids.

Thanks!

Print out some of the deals from the "authorized dealers" and then take the print out to BB or Fry's and they'll do an online price match for you.
Some vendors are now offering free wall mounts and almost all offer free shipping so you can try to negotiate prices with retail stores that do the price match.

Back in 2002 when the Sony 42" plasma was retail priced at my local Fry's for $7500 I purchased it from Onecall.com for $5900 free shipping, no tax. Strapped to a pallet and had motion/drop indicators with red dye in them if the pallet was slanted too much or dropped they'd turn red. All went fine and the Sony is still going strong! Perfect picture to this day.

I've got your same issue. I want to by local for such a large size TV and Fry's will deliver free, plug it in and make sure it's not damaged before leaving and getting you to sign off on the delivery. I'm south of Houston, TX so there are several places local to deal with.

Even though I could save on tax (which would easily pay for the extended warranty) I just have seen so many horror stories about panel damage during shipment.

I have a 2yr old Samsung 8000 series LED TV that I did get online and was perfect when delivered from buy.com but I just don't get that warm fuzzy feeling about shelling out the big bugs and having such a large/fragile TV delivered across the country.

Good luck on your search and hopefully you can get a good local deal.

Best Buy is only match a few different sellers, no 3rd party sellers.
Best to find a price that Amazon is selling it for.

I was wondering the same thing. Says to charge via the TV's USB plugs, but would any usb charger/hub work? Thanks in advance!

I would think any powered USB hub would supply the proper voltage/current to charge them. Meritline.com or monoprice.com would probably be the best prices unless you wanted to give eBay a shot.

I picked up a couple of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003FWLZTK/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Edit: I should point out that when I got mine they were being sold by amazon.com directly and available on prime. Consequently I only paid $10.05, including shipping. So, YMMV. But they are still handy little gadgets. smile.gif

Which HDMI cables pass 3D?  Is there a rating or significant difference between cables for this TV??

Thanks

High speed cables are needed for 3D. Most around here use monoprice, Mediabridge, or Blue Jean. Most of us around here avoid overpaying for Monster, etc. All will work fine.

I purhcased this cable on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/260802745131?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648

It has a high 14.9Gbps performance speed and allows for really high resolution, and it's not $80!

Hi,
Get a hub which comes with a power supply up to 2A current.
The glasses easily need 500ma each. I use my pc usb port where each port is capable of 500ma.

Trying to calibrate this puppy through WOW Disney and having trouble with one particular thing. When it says that I should three rectangles around my screen, I only see two. So somehow my set is zoomed in. Or the bluray player is. But I can't figure out how to fix this. Somebody help!

Can't help you on blu-ray, but hit the 'View Mode' button the remote and see what it is set at. Dot by dot will give you the full image for sure, with the others being levels of zoom. If that isn't it, then you'll need to see if you have a zoom or resolution setting on your blu-ray remote.
