Is the Denon 3806 to old for this TV. I had best buy come in hook everything up for me calibrate the TV which I'm not impressed with at all. When Avical does an east coast tour again I will have them come and calibrate it for me. But for now I'm just not sure about the sound matching up with the mouths on the TV. It don't happen all the time but enough for me to take notice. Anyone have any ideas what it could be or do I need to replace the 3806. It's a great receiver the surround sound is great but I need answers. Thank You

On page 68 of your manual are the steps you can perform to adjust for audio delay:
http://usa.denon.com/DocumentMaster/US/AVR3806DFU.pdf

When watching a DVD or other video source, the picture on the
monitor may seem delayed with respect to the sound. In this
case, adjust the audio delay to delay the sound and synchronize
it with the picture.
The audio delay setting is stored separately for each input
source.

JLINES45,
Right now I'm using a Denon AVR-1912 and have to set the audio delay to 200ms and it looks right, mess around with that setting and you'll know when you have it right.

Well Best Buy is picking up the TV this Wednesday. Well I went across the street to HHGregg and they didn't have any and sold me the display model. I was a little hesitant but I got a good price and I know it isn't broken and they are brining it out this Wednesday and they have a 30 day return policy. Anything I should specifically look for? I went over the entire tv with the manager and there isn't any scratches or anything on it.

should be fine ! display models are great as long as they are not scratched & dented . At least you know it's tested & best part you get a full warranty . Sounds like a win - win to me . Sounds like you came out on top , well done . I'd buy the Sharp extended warranty with the money you saved & get the 4 years , 3 months repair/replacement coverage . Register the display with Sharp on the phone & then ask for the service policy , they will transfer right there & quote you the price wink.gif

Thanks once again. I was planning on getting Sharps repair/replacement warranty. I think it was somewhere in this thread I read that it's the best extended warranty to get. What does Sharp charge?

I thought it was one price. I paid $3350 with tax. Are you using the Sharpe 3D glasses?

nah there are some who paid 179.00 when they got a deal on their display , so it's a sliding figure higher you paid for the display the more the warranty costs .
it goes to replacement costs is why , if they have to pay more for a failure years down the road , then it costs more . it's a true full replacement cost warranty . not a prorated warranty like some 2nd party insurances are .
I just purchased the Sharp warranty. It was $219.99 for TV's costing from $3,500 to $4,999.99.
You have to specify the cost of the TV when you purchase the warranty.
You can stretch the payments over 3 months.

I paid $699.00 dollars for 5 years from Best Buy. With an option that when that warranty runs out you can extend it. Which by then I will be on to another TV but it's a good option if you we're going to keep it. It don't seem like anyone else bought there warrenty from Best Buy did I get ripped off.

Seeing as how you can get a 3 year Square Trade warranty from Costco for $100, I certainly wouldn't pay an additional $600 for two extra years.

Did you buy a bunch of Monster products, too tongue.gif

699 for a five year warrranty. THATS INSANE

Cancel it asap and get one of the other options. they just totally ripped you off.

At $700, that is about 1/5 of the cost of the television. 60% of that $700 is pure profit for BBY. I'd suggest a refund of the service plan and picking up a Sharp warranty or if you are a Costco member, a Square Trade warranty.

Can Costco Square Trade warranty work for BB 844?
I know that Coscto TVs comes with 2 years + 3 years for extra Square Trade warranty on top of 2 years to total 5 years.
How it will work for BB TV that has 1 year?

BB told me that if anything happened to TV some tech will come in and ether fix it or BB replace it, while for Costco I have to ship it to Sharp at own cost for repair eek.gif

What's the trues?

I recently tried purchasing a Sharp extended warranty on my 70" Elite, and they would not sell it to me because it was a floor model.

Did they know it was a floor model by the serial number or did you tell them it was a floor model?

Believe it or not, I actually volunteered the information without even being asked. Perhaps that was a mistake.

Best to compare apples to apples.
I got an offer from Sharp for $405 for 3 years.
I got an offer from BestBuy for $360 for 3 years.
BestBuy is more expensive on the one-year plan, though.
I don't have an offer for 5 years, as shown in other posts.
My model is 70LE845...

So I have had this tv for about a week and a half and have some concerns. I am getting judder on the scrolling bar at bottom of screen on nfl network and I constantly am seeing motion blur and it is really starting to make me regret buying this set. I have all motion enhancement off and quad pixel off as well as active contrast, film mode been going back and forth with this one, and digital noise reduction. I have tried everything and still have judder and motion issues. I have the direct tv box being fed into the pioneer vsx1522 as well as my oppo 103 player and having the receiver send the signal to the tv. What can I do? I really don't want to return this set because I love the siz however this really is bothersome.
Well they delivered my tv today. Got it mounted on the wall and everything looks good except it looks like I have some flash lighting. Is this normal or is this something I should contact Sharp about? Does it matter that it was a display model?

Sharp warranty price goes up longer you wait after your purchase. At first I was offered 3 year warranty for ~$219 now spam they send me is quoting me ~$500. Their warranty price is also based on TV price.

I took the fist picture with adjustments made in Movie mode and this picture was taken after some adjustments in Standard mode

Does anyone have one of these 80 inchers on a stand that is not as wide as the TV? My current stand would be about 6 inches shy of the width, so I'd like to see picture(s) from folks in a similar predicament. Thanks!

I've seen them on shorter stands at Best Buy and didn't find it objectionable.

3" shorter on each side of the TV I don't believe would be a problem.

Here is my LC-80LE632u on my old Sony Grand Wega III stand. It's about 6 inches shy on each side.

I have a little light bleed/clouding in the bottom right of my screen. I don't think there is any panel that is 100% perfect. if you don't really notice it with regular viewing and it is not distracting when watching letterbox material, then I would just try to enjoy the set.

If you got a replacement, who knows, it could end up being worse

I hear ya my Sony kdl52xbr9 has some too. The only thing is the lower right is noticeable in dark scenes and sometimes can be distracting to me. I don't think my wife would ever notice. I might contact sharp about it.

Thanks for the reply.

RON82ND,

Does your Pioneer AVR do video up scaling? I have a pioneer AVR and had the same issues with tickers on the bottom of some channels including NFL Network. I set the "PCINEMA" (Pure Cinema) parameter to "OFF". This solved the motion blur for the scrolling tickers for me.

Are you getting blur on the filmed content as well? It shouldn't happen if you turn off motion enhancement and turn off Film mode. I actually watch in "Game Mode" setting for all content. This is the only mode that I have found that reduces audio/video sync delays using different sources (cable TV, Blu-ray, etc.). I am still trying some settings mentioned by "greeno" to see if I can go back to "Standard Mode" for film viewing.
Yes I have the pioneer doing the up scaling and will have to check into the pure cinema thing thanksmformthe advice. It really is bugging me and wife go figures tells me today I thought this would have a better picture I liked the Samsung go figure.
