Perhaps it's just my frustration speaking but it seems to me Sharp is stringing the consumer along. They show the 945 in Jan, claim it will be a product, and here we are nearing the end of the year and we may actually be further away from the 945 becoming a product than we were in Jan. Now it's the Moth-Eye. It wasn't clear to me whether this model will be a full array, local dimming model or something less, with it's primary marketing value being the Moth-Eye screen. But now that our appetite is whet, we're told it's only being launched in Japan (at least for now) with no date (or promise) of a US launch. It's bad enough having to play the "fish or cut bait" game with those products that are already here, but all of these 'virtual promises' coming from Sharp is really messing with my head. It's tough to ignore all the praise being heaped on the Panny VT50, but I'm paranoid of IR and really wanted at least 70". I love the Sony HX950 but it's only 65" and it's at least $2k more than it should be. I can get the Sharp 70C8470U for under $2800 but it clearly doesn't represent the latest and greatest in technologies, and since I don't make these purchases very often I prefer to try to buy close to leading edge, within reason. If Sharp would just be honest with us in terms of what their future plans are, I might be willing to wait. But from where I'm sitting it sure seems like they don't intend to do anything other than dangle carrots in an effort to keep us interested. I've all but lost my faith.
