Can you give us a report on your reaction to the Display?
As no one has reported that they had one in their home yet .
I've yet to see what they look like in person.
Photos would be awesome!

Just purchased the 60LE835U about 3 weeks ago...been using the AVS (free download, THANKS EVERYONE!!!) and the Spears & Munsil BDDVD for calibration..have to say the picture is 90% FANTASTIC...especially the 3D! Personally the 4th color I think adds to a wonderful viewing experience (this is open to personal interpretation). But...I have terrible clouding issues on dark/black screens and ocassional motion blur. I am Sooooo very dissapointed, cause i so badly wanted to love 100% of this unit. I have decided to exchange it and was hoping to get the same model as I have seen with others having the same issue a simple exchange provided a model that didnt have such issues. Unfortunatly the store I purchased has no more in-store as they are stting up displays for the 2012 models...thus any feedback on the 745U's would be very much appreciated!

I have a preorder in at abt.com with delivery scheduled in late March, quite excited. There are not many other 3D-capable options in the 65-70 inch range at these price points, short of LG/Vizios (which I rule out because I do not like the passive 3D experience).

Anyone that picks up one of the new 2012 7 series, PLEASE post your opinion and input asap! I only have 10 days to return the 60le835u ...if the reports on the 745s actually clear up the clouding & screen uniformity issues. Either that or I just accept the 835u's flaws, as there will probably be issues with just about every edge lit on the market.

The 70'' is $2799 in the most recent Fry's ad. Going to try and talk the wife into this set to replace our 65'' Mits DLP from 2007.
I saw the 70" yesterday. I really didn't see any clouding, flashlighting, or creasing. It looked really good for being under the lights. I am getting the 80" 844 hopefully next week.

See if they will up-grade you to the 80" 632 ? worth it if even they charge you some added costs ...

Only upgrade is to 70", either 734 or 732... both of which are full array, and should clear up the clouding issues, but no 3D & sadly the wife and kids LOVE the feature! The only difference I see between them is the 732 is 120 and the 734 is 240, is that correct?

I did see the new 2012 7 series, all of which do NOT have quattron and are only 120. They didn't impress me... The 8 series which launch in april will have the 4th color and 3d feature. Then the bad boys launch this summer, 9 series, full array, 3d, quattron, the whole 9, with the exception of local dimming.
,
Deliberating on going with the 734 or 732 or even the Samsung 60" 7000, any thoughts?

The 734 is honestly, stunning! But I'm stuck with myself being happy with better pic quality and uniformity, or an upset wife and kids cause no 3D...guess u can't make everyone happy.

I have calibrated the 635 with both the spears & munsil and avs cali discs, but still have vertical lines on white/blue backgrounds, the clouding is tolerable(going to have this with any edge lit) but the lines drive me NUTS!! Blu ray and 3d are unbelievably beautiful though...just can't see to get past the flaws when watching reg HD broadcasts, which is what we spend 75% of our viewing time watching.

What reported issues are with the 2012 edge lits?

Probably my verbiage. Just spent an hour in the store making the sales rep go from unit to unit (635-732-734-new 2012 7 series), all of which had relative clouding issues. But, 732, 734 and 2012 7 series the vertical lines were prevelant but not dominant like on my 635. Driving myself CRAZY with this!!

Have talked to sharp and short of having a tech come out, which push me past my return date, said no other options.

I think you will find that the 9 series does have local dimming.

your right! Although it will not launch till the summer. My conundrum is that I have till the 12th to return/exchange my 835u. I may just have to return it and wait till the summer...

I would say you are right. April or so......The price will be much higher than the current model.

There are many different ways to say a unit is not local dimming, but try to make people think the unit may be........ seems to be the norm now.

I am really curious to see if the new Sharp models successfully dealt with the DSE issue on the 2011 sets.

This is the one issue that kept me from buying the 70" 732 or 632, as I watch a lot of hockey and the DSE on predominantly white pictures (like hockey) was unacceptable to me.
I had the pleasure of playing with the new 2012 7 series, both 60" and 70". DSE is still there and very noticable. waiting to see the 8 series, launch in April and very anxious to see the 9 series, launching this summer.
