So would you guys recommend the LC70LE745U model, I got a 65LM6200 that I can still return and upgrade to the 70" Sharp which I believe many mentioned as being non-glare. The glossy finish of the LG is just killing me.

The Sharp is semi-non-glare. It's not a matte finish like so many LCDs had until recently, but it helps somewhat.

How's the3D performance ? Most negative reviews indicate a lot of ghosting.

I love the 3D.
The quality varies from one title to another, due to authoring challenges.
Mostly perfectly rendered and the rare slight defects are easy to ignore.

I'm watching regular television on Shaw satellite. I do get HDTV channels, of course, and when I record a show in HD on the PVR it does fill the screen. The problem is that most channels are not on HDTV, that includes all the local channels. I can see where there would be bars on top or sides but both? It just seems there ought to be a way to slowly dial up the size of the picture until it fills the screen. The only way I've found to do that is using the zoom feature, but then you lose a lot of clarity. As it stands, most of the shows on TV only show as if I had a 55 inch TV.

Hello All, I just picked up my new 70LE745U a couple days ago. We had a few people over to watch the hockey game and everyone was impressed with the color and how it looked. I am really happy so far with this TV,

I do have a question for anyone who has more experience with these TV's then I do.

I have been having trouble with the 3D, I have been playing with the 3D depth setting to try and get rid of the ghosting around the images. On the main menu of the movie, the menu is almost un-readable because of the ghosting around the words. (I think it is ghosting, a dimmer duplication of the object moved slightly to the side?) I have tried every depth level on the tv and it never gets much better. It seams like if the depth would go a little lower, maybe around -12 it would be perfect, but the adjustment cuts off at -10. I am using a PS3 for the 3D movies, would a proper 3D player work better? Would it have more adjustments for the 3D to help make it clearer? The playstation has none.

A second question is, has anyone used the monsterVision 3D glasses with this TV? I have heard they work with sharp, but with my research nothing other then the sharp glasses work with this particular model. I have read that they have a sensor that will go over the IR output on the TV and convert it to RF and you have a lot of settings that potentially could eliminate the ghosting problems and make 3D view-able.

1 day owner here. Still undecided on the picture. Looks to me like there is a haze over everything. Anyway my question was about the 3d glasses. Not sure I can stomach the 50$ cost of the sharp ones. I found some "universal" Sony PS3 Active glasses for a steal. They came in today and are apparently not compatible (3d test doesnt look any different on or off). Wanted to check if I was missing something obvious before I send them back?

I too did some looking around for glasses. Here in the store they wanted $120 each. It was a joke. So I did some research and also grabbed a couple pairs of the ps3 glasses. I could not get them to work either. After some research there is no other glasses that will work other then the sharp ones. Very dissapointed about that.

The Sharp glasses work very well, though.
On a $3,000 television, they are a small investment.
Of course, my $3,000 included 2 pairs of the Sharp glasses...

Unpaid $3000 but it didn't come with any. I ended up getting the store to match the price I found on amazon of $80 so I picked up 4 pairs. If you can find them for $50 jump on that.

Anyone know the difference between these 3 models? And will they all work? Mostly interested in the latest G40 model. Thanks again!

The 20 and 30 series are IR based - the 40 series works with Bluetooth and are not backward compatible with the 2012 and 2011 Sharp 3D panels. They only work with the 2013 3D lineup....

The LC60LE745U is $1,299 at Amazon.com and the 2013 LC60LE657U is $1,199 (+ tax) at Costco. Anyone know which one is the better value for me to get? The 745u doesn't come with glasses, while the 657u comes with two.

Most interested in watching sports on the TV and gaming. Can't find any info, but I'm assuming both have the "Vyper" game mode, right?

Went through this pain today, was at Best Buy to buy glasses for my 70", they sold me 2 of the AN-3DG40 and they wouldn't pair with the TV once I got home. Called Sharp and they told me only the 20/30 models are compatible with LC-70LE745U. Best Buy I purchased from didn't have any in stock so I had to drive across town to return the 40's and get a pair of 30's. I'm using a PS3 for 3D playback, Monsters Inc. looked gorgeous but Nightmare before Christmas had lots of ghosting even after I fiddled with 3D depth settings, not sure if it's the media or PS3 or what, I'd like to see more feedback on the 3D and what works for people.

For what its worth, I liked the 30 model more than the 40 model when I had it on. Although the 30 model look more like cyclop glasses (xmen), but they feel better on and have a slider to switch between off/2d/3d and they are rechargeable. 40 model uses watch battery with estimated life of 80-100 hours and look atrocious.

I'm honestly disappointed with the game mode if reaction speed is something you're looking for, "vyper" mode exists but it only reduces input delay, not eliminates. I had upgraded from a LC-60E79U and this baby had no input delay at all in game mode. I currently changed my display settings in game mode from 720p to 720i to improve my input delay to tolerable levels.

The following website has input delay ratings and the LC60LE745U you're looking into has a bad rating with 63ms response.

Regarding sports, I was watching NHL/NBA games this weekend and had no blurring issues with the motion enhancement setting at 120mhz low, loving this aspect of it.

I just got a brand new in the box sharp lc-60le745u from Best Buy for $999.99 including 2 pr. 3d glasses an-3dg30's. I also used $45.00 in reward zone certificates, i am definitely a happy camper. FYI it was a clearances item at my local Best Buy, forgot to mention Best Buy also delivers and sets it u p in that price. amazing i would say

Couple of questions for70" 745 owners please. How do you think the 745 will compare to it's 2013 replacement from Sharp (same panel etc?) and how do you think it compares to the new Sony 70R550A which is of course passive 3D vs. the 745's Active 3D?
