Well finally my player wanted to 1010 update on it's own..

I had tried to manualy down load it... but it said it was up to date...

So I have the illusive 1010 in there now.

So the wireless keyboard did not work yet I ordered in a Bluetooth dongle we will see if the player will support that if so I may have the input licked for the keyboard remote.

I did finally get a hd TV. Samsung lost out to a Visio 32 inch model # e3d320vx 3d TV it had a great pix in the Wal-Mart so it came home with me

So the smart hub is not switching off right now. We will have to see how it acts this weekend!! That is when I was having the most problems for sure was the Friday eve to Monday early am!!

more later

I got one of these today (actually a HD-E6500W) which I believe is the same thing.

All the reviews of it says it has HDMI Standby Pass through, but when I turn the receiver off it no longer passes through the HDMI signal it was tuned to. Am I doing something wrong?

My Samsung 60" es8000 gets delivered today so I'll be able to connect the e6500 and take it for a drive. Box says " bd 6500" however the mfg date on unit is feb 2012 so i have to think that is the E year...correct me if i'm wrong please.

....Tv installed one week now. Picture is amazing as well as sound...Love it....sexy piece of gear to match the sexiest flat screen on the market. Love the slot feed.

any idea how to get 'smart hub youtube' app to speed up? I have fios 50/35 and it is always buffering, it will never play back a file without buffering. Vimeo hd videos run without any buffering at all.

-upd8

i fixed this issue, i had to go into my admin area on my Fios Router & resolve "DMZ" and chose my ip for my e5700 & exposed all ports to the internet. But only on my blu ray player, very important......now i get no more buffering & all the youtube, even hd, files open & play all the way thru w/out interruption.

BD-Wise feature? Does anyone who is connected to a Samsung TV have opinions with this picture setting? Likes, dislikes, suggested settings?

Those of you who own a BD-E6500 player,do you experience and audio delay issues while streaming movies on netflix? It doesnt do it all the time, but I can guarantee it to do it when I pause the movie for a few seconds and then resume play.A family member has the same player and also experiences this.ANYONE???????

After 3 weeks my hdmi out died. Tested all cables and components to the TV input and all worked except the 6500. Returned it for a new one. I hope this works out because I got a 30 dollar price drop during the exchange and I love the slot load feature as well as the look for the theater...not to mention picture quality.

Almost two months with the new 6500 and it has been flawless. My wife played a homemade video disk in the old one. Is it possible data from that virused my first player disabling the hdmi funcionality?

My second bd-e6500 has been flawless and razor sharp in picture quality 2d (and 3d) as well as streaming Netflix and other Smarthub features.. Fantastic player at this price point.

I have had my E6500 for a month now. I use it primarily for streaming video from my PC. It worked flawlessly. I even updated my router in order to stream HD videos. Perfect. But for the last 2 weeks, almost everything I try to watch stutters and buffers...and not just a little, every 30 seconds. I thought it was because of HD streaming, so I tried SD video and that is buffering too. I have tried uninstalling Allshare from my PC and re-installing it. I did a factory reset because it seems to have started after a firmware upgrade. Nothing helps. One show will play perfectly but another will not. Both are SD.

I am stumped on what to do. It's impossible to put up with.

Samsung BD-E6500/ZA Not staying connected to the internet via wireless

I've had three Samsung BD-E6500/ZA blu ray players and they all have done the same thing. The first two I sent back, one to the store that I purchased it at for a replacement (after conferring with Samsung, who said it was defective). When the replacement did exactly the same thing I opted to send it to Samsung. They then sent me another replacement. Low and behold the same symptoms. After to talking to Samsung, unplugging and plugging in a few times, the unit would connect but after approx. 4-8 seconds in Smarthub would disconnect. I have a Samsung TV that works flawlessly using a wireless connection. After many go rounds on the phone I finally talked to a gal who knew her stuff and said for sure it was defective, especially when the Samsung TV worked perfectly. I sent the unit to Samsung to be repaired

I just got off the phone with Samsung and they have ordered a "Main PCB Assembly" for my unit. Part # AK94-00517A. I don't know what this is or what it does.

Has anyone else had this same issue? What is a Main PCB Assembly and what does it do?

Thanks

I have not had that issue but just after I posted "all is well" two days ago my player starts acting weird. I had to cold reboot to play Chimpanzee...then the same thing to watch "The Sting" last night yet two weeks ago that same disk started properly after receiving from Amazon. If this player craps out much more I am just jumping over to the new Sony reviewed in HomeTheater mag or ....stepping up to an OPPO.

Effing done dikking around!!!!

When playing a MKV File I can't find the option to see if its encoding the correct audio to the TV. For example a MKV file with DTS or Dolby Digital Audio. Player only says langauge1 or if multiple audio encodes language2 ect.
On my BD-C6900 I can pull up the audio information and it tells me if its DTS or Dolby Digital ect.

How do I go about getting that information the BD-E6500?

so I just updated to firmware 1053...very strange they jumped from 1013 to 1053....I thought I may have missed some updates but that is listed as the next version.

Still early, but so far so good...

Anyone else update?

Hello everyone!
Buying this device today for my b-day. Sounds like mixed results, but need to know if the WiFi works well?
Seems like there are constant firmware updates, which is a good thing, right?

...I ran the update as well. I see no issues at all. I just had to reset my preferences.

....yes, for the money this is an excellent choice. Razor sharp picture quality. I do all my wi-fi streaming from the e6500 and that has been working well. Aestetically this looks amazing and clean visually along with my Sammy UN60e8000 led. I really prefer slot load as opposed to tray loading of disks. Once in a while a disk wont load (usually a Netflix rental)...and that is about once every 6 to 8 weeks. When that happens I just pull power plug and restart. At the 160 i paid for this player i'm okay with that. Bluray players are retards anyway unless you spring for 400 plus on an OPPO.

I turn off bd-live so to run faster.

I'm very happy with mine - no issues to report. There have been two firmware updates since I bought this a few months ago - no issues and no real improvements from what I can see. I only use the player for blu-ray...all streaming is through my TiVo premier or the ES7100.

I just recently upgraded our entire video system - 720P DLP to a 55ES7100 and replaced an old upscaling Samsung DVD player to the BD-E6500 - quite a jump (almost 8 years of technology improvements)! eek.gif

I don’t do much streaming on the E65k (I usually use my Apple TV)… But the only real issue I have is when pausing a BD for a few minutes (bathroom break), the player locks up occasionally. I need to eject the disc and reinsert… Then find where I left off.

Does your streaming still work? And if so, what are you using (DLNA, the Allshare software)? My streaming was working well, then all of a sudden--about two weeks ago, so about the time of the firmware update--it stopped discovering my DLNA server. I tried rolling back to the initial factory settings, but it still wouldn't detect it.

Fortunately, it looks like Plex is coming out for this unit, as I already use Plex and DLNA. I didn't really want to install another media server.

Overall, the picture quality is really amazing. However, the app availability is well below, say, Panasonic, and I've also had problems with not reading a number of regular DVDs that my DVD players and computer read without any problem. I got it for free, and my initial reaction was to sell it and use the money to buy another player. I wish I had.

Question for everyone. I currently have the Samsung BD-E5900, but it doesn't play The Amazing Spiderman 3D, nor Brave 3D. I went through 3 different Spiderman discs before calling Samsung and going through all the troubleshooting with them. They stated they have to submit for a Firmware update. Sounds like this player is behind like that. I guess there was an issue when The Hunger Games came out too.

So I called Pauls TV and they said I can bring that player back and choose between the Panasonic DMP-BDT321 or the Samsung BD-E6500.

I was wondering if anyone here has had an issue with playing 3D movies? Did you have to wait for firmware updates to play them?

Has anyone tried playing The Amazing Spiderman or Brave in 3D on this player?

Just trying to figure out which of the 2 I want to get.

Thanks!!!

I am on FW 1053: Brave3d played flawlessly and Netflix streaming is working well. That is the only app I have had time to check...

Blu Ray Audio Slightly Out Of Sync

I have the samsung BD-e6500 blu ray 3d player.

connected via HDMI to the yamaha RXA820 receiver and the receiver connected via HDMI to the sharp aquos tv and to 5.1 surround sound speakers.

popped in pixar related animated movies and everything is fine.

popped in a non-animated blu ray movie for the first time ( Santa Clause Combo Pack Set) and I notice that the audio is slightly out of sync (a touch slower) than the lip movements of the people in the picture. Almost like they are lip-syncing..

I have heard a bit about this with other players, but what do I need to do for ALL blu-ray movies (animated and non-animated) to work properly so that the video and audio are in sync with one another?

thanks
tom
I would think the issue is beyond the particular player, and perhaps with the animation it just isn't as detailed as human lips. Many avrs have a sync feature, some by adjusting timing some auto. Might check your avr manual.

I did NOT like the Samsung BD-E5900... had too many issues of freezing and not playing the newer 3D movies, so I took it back two weeks ago to get the:
3D Blu-ray Disc® Player With Built-in WiFi (BD-E6500) which was on sale for $130. Terrific player, no freezing and plays the latest 3D movies flawlessly. I did NOT have any of the issues mentioned in these post, but maybe the latest FW 1053 has fixed all the issues?

I use it with the Samsung Plasma P59D550 3D HDTV, Pioneer VSX-521-K - 5.1-Channel 3D Ready AV Receiver / Pioneer Tower speaker 5.1 surround system.

Now no need to go to the movie theaters anymore and put up with the texters, noisy kids and rude people.
Stay home play what I want as loud as I want and eat what I want, pause it to go to bathroom, get more food/drinks.biggrin.gif

Here is my setup:

When I turn out the lights (day or night) it is totally dark.

I just bought the E6500 and would like to play music from my galaxy S3 through the e6500 WITHOUT a PC involved. I'm not able to connect the two. Both are connnected to my wireless network. Samsung Control works from the phone. I just can't seem to connect via DLNA.

Can someone please explain the procedure?

Thanks!

Samsung stuck on "MODE NOT SUPPORTED" HELP!!!

I have the Samsung SAMSUNG UN46ES8000 46" 1080p 240Hz 3D LED-LCD HDTV SmartTV and the Samsung BD-E6500 Blu-Ray Player. I am having problems with playing 3D movies. I can play regular Blu-Ray movies just fine. But when I put in say like "The Amazing Spiderman" or "The Smurfs" it will play all the previews just fine even the 3D previews and then get to the menu where I select "Play Movie". Once I select "Play Movie" it kind of lags on a blank black screen and then tells me "Mode Not Supported" "Resolution Not Supported". Can somebody help me with fixing this problem. I can't play 3D movies until I get this fixed. Please help, so I can experience the reason I bought this 3D system.
Just bought this player. 2D movies play perfectly. However, my 3D Blu Ray loads as a Data Disc! ("Adventures of TinTin", purchased from amazon.ca). What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
