I recently purchase this TV even after reading this thread and the slickdeals thread. I read a lot of complaining, but very little effective action. We should group together to effectively stir action against LG, and hopefully we will get our OTA update for manual control over the 120hz issue. Look, we know it's a 60hz panel that doesn't output 120hz. It's written all over the box and owner's manual. But it's straight false advertising. There is a case. I'll list the steps below, but before I do, remember the key is to STAY CALM AND COLLECTIVE. Record everything and follow the steps exactly:
1. Call LG customer support at 1-800-243-0000. Kindly ask for help about the 120hz issue, once they beat around the bush, ask to speak to a manager and explain the same exact thing. Stay calm and cool. Once the manager gives you some more BS, ask them to transcribe your conversation and send you a copy (they can't, but it'll make him sweat).
2. Take the fight to Facebook/Twitter. Conveniently facebook status update/tweet about how dissatisfied you are as a customer and/or any horrible customer service you received. Don't forget the hash tags (#falseadvertising). Remember, non-threatening!
3. Write a letter to:
President of Consumer Electronics USA
1000 Sylvan Avenue
Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632
...with your complaint. Write about your complaints and how there was no resolution to fix your problem. Write about how you though this TV advertised an output of 120hz, but it never displays it, compared to even lower end tv models that do. Write how you are one of many online that have the same complaint.
4. Wait for a reply. (4 weeks is adequate). He will have to clear his response with legal, so that takes time.

REMEMBER TO STAY CIVIL AND RESPECTFUL! Respect earns respect. Anger doesn't solve any issue, it'll just p*ss off the person you're working with and they won't care to help (put yourself in their shoes...some P's you off, you are not inclined to help them). Don't be the one to ruin it for all of us.
