Official LG 47LM6700/55LM6700 "Passive 3D" Owners Thread - 2012 - Page 60

I have the 47lm6700. I have tried everything, resetting to factory, letting the TV cool off for a while, different router, turning off internet. Turning off the internet function is the only thing that works. I'm very frustrated. I can't use my TV. It's a huge inconvenience for my lazy ass that just wants to watch TV on Saturday morning. Call me old fashioned but these cartoons aren't waiting for me, and I don't want to miss out. In all seriousness though, I am on the phone with BB and they are scheduling a repair call.

I too had this problem after upgrading the firmware. The new firmware is not compatible with my plex server running on windows.
Disabling the plex server appears to fix this issue. I hope LG will address this problem with an update pretty soon as I rely on my
plex server to watch recorded videos.
There's a plex server update in their downloads section, telling the server to check for updates won't find it. People in plex forum says it fixes the issue. I just installed it, but won't confirm the fix because thanks to some other shenanigans I've described in the 7600 thread, LG had me blow out my settings, which cleared the wifi settings, and I'm not going to set it back up for wifi.

Pretty frustrated, luckily I bought the two year warranty from BB. Had a TV with no light bleeds or blooming problems for 6 months. Now all of the sudden I can't get the damn thing to stay on. So annoying. Anyone have any work arounds?

Do you have Plex running for LG Media Link? The last version of Plex introduced a serious bug which causes the TV to reboot (even if MediaLink is not running).

The latest version of Plex seems to fix the issue.
I can confirm the new plex update solves the problem. I had previously assumed the LG firmware was the culprit. Both the firmware and plex updates come around the same time.
Plex has been a problem with at least the LM line if not other LG TVs.
LG sent a tech out at least 4 times for my LM6500. Then decided to replace it with the LM6700 (the retailer was out of LM6500s) All for "rebooting" problems. How many others must have had this issue and several service calls, before it was narrowed down to a Plex Problem.
If LG is going to keep using Plex as a media server, I would think they might work with them to make sure this problem does not keep comming up.

I have a 55 lm6700, and there's a judder/blurriness issue I have. It's especially vivid in FIFA 2013; when ever the ball is passed across the field and the camera/screen follows it. Also slight judder is visible in the background of regular and hd tv programing. However all of the hd movies are just perfect. I was wondering what settings are you running for FIFA2013 game?

If you put the TV in GAME mode is the same as a PC monitor.

For me is awesome to play FIFA 13. Is better than watch it on cable smile.gif

And for use it on 3D mode is also great (I use it with nvidia 3DTV PLay)

are you sure its not a framerate problem of the console game? the other person stated that they played fifa on the pc, and it runs smooth. sometimes console games have frame rate problems.

did you try it in game mode?

Any tips?
Im using a galaxy note 2 and the option automatically appears in the youtube and netflix app at the top of the screen. Unfotunately, it does nothing to speed up the YouTube app at all, if anything it might be slower. The netflix app more or less opens the TV netflix app so its not exactly like controlling from the phone. Sorry I cant be of more help but after 5 years I was bored with the iphone. Check the app store on your iphone and make sure you have the most current version of the youtube app. While you are there be sure to grab the free LG remote app, ive found that useful for when the magic remote batteries die.

Got my one year warranty renewal notice in the mail........
Thinking of extending... Anyone planning on skipping on the renew?
I haven't ( knock on wood ) had any problems and I'd hate to just hand LG another $100... What to do...

Hi Guys

I’m not the happiest owner of 47”LM670 . Recently my TV was damaged by my daughter and her move remote. Have called my insurance company and they offered screen replacement. TV arrived today and maybe I’m crazy about it but it looks even more blurry. Have notice bleeding in the corners as well.

What do you think about bleeding? Is it enough to complain?
Before they replace the screen I have been trying to convince insurer for refund ( they quoted half of price I have paid for ) instead of repair as with new TV I said to them I can always exchange at shop if I’m not happy . Anyway they decided to repair it

Many thanks for any advice.

Hi guys, first post but long time reader.

I was happy and afraid at the same time when I got my LM6700 today, it's a 42" too, not sure why it's not @ the topic title the 42" option.
Anyway, I was afraid because there's SO MUCH negative stuff about this TV on this thread and so far it doesn't seem to affect me. I've researched A LOT everywhere on the net before buying this TV.

My firmware is 04.04.03 and I don't plan on updating because I see SO MANY lag complaints and I simply have 0 lag, tried BOPS II and Skyrim so far, using PC/Game mode (no difference?) and tried several image settings (vivid, game, etc, ended up setting my own stuff and I'm using expert atm WITHOUT LAG). Skyrim 3D with Tridef is AMAZING, the depth is very awesome, I even got a bit of headache while adapting.

I watched a few movies too and I see no ghosting, blurriness, or bad jaggies.

Maybe I got used to it? I had a plasma panasonic 42py85lb for the last 1-2 yrs before using this LM6700 and I'm way happier now, imagine quality is way better!
Maybe my eyes suck as well, because I can't see all the problems people describe. The TV DOES have some flash lighting which I'm solving by messing with the screws on the back and testing different pressures, but aside from that, so far no complaints!

So wtf? Is it the new firmware? People are too critic? Lol. I've found reviews giving this set 2-3 stars, WTF? It's a very cheap 3D set and to me it all looks decent.

Tridef is a software which lets you play games in 3D using various profiles, they have profiles for most "big" games (http://www.tridef.com/).
You can configure depth and other stuffs for each game, since FIFA and Call of Duty do not play the same.
It's a better solution than ATI HD3D or w/e it's called, which SUCKS. Tridef gaming is VERY NICE.

I honestly never thought of it. I did a lot of searching in the forums and it never came up. Ill try disabling it when I get home. Or rather ill try to update it. I've never used that function. BB already ordered the new main board for my tv. Should I let them replace it anyway? I haven't had any other problems.

I too am having a horrible experience with my 55LM6700. I'm seeing white spots (macro blocking) during fast action scenes that was not present couple of months ago. Real bad snow effect and blur. Changed HDMI cables, everything. No improvement. Any suggestions on how to file a formal complaint? LG or BBB?

Hello,

I'm from Europe and my mother have european version 42LM670S. When I upgrade to new FW, have I to tune and set up list of channels and all settings again? Thanks for reply.

Is this happening on Blu Ray or dvd, or just on cable/sat/ota signals. If the latter your complaint is with the cable/sat company or you need to improve your antenna. These are classic symptoms of weak signal and/or overcompression by service provider.

How do you get the update with the tv rebooting every time it connects to internet?
For those of you having a rebooting problem where it is a continuous rebooting problem. The plex media server was causing this. And as a byproduct, it caused a terrible ache in my derriere. Constant rebooting unless wifi was deactivated. Annoying, to say the least. MY problem was that some d-bag named Dave, who shared my router at our apartment complex (we share wifi, cheap owners) had a plex media server set up on his imac. Well it was connecting to my TV, and giving me and my wife a headache.

Anyway, the solve? I set up my own plex media, and connected my TV to that before it rebooted. Instantly solved. In order to do this you have to go to "home" on your LG, media server, then select your own device rather than the offending device. Supposedly the problem lies within the fact that an old version of plex on the computer doesn't play nice with the TV.

Firmware should not any effect on your settings or channels. Sometimes a firmware could change the look of your settings, but it will not reset them.

The Plex server update is not dependent on the TV being on. It is installed on a separate computer on the network.
