Official LG 47LM6700/55LM6700 "Passive 3D" Owners Thread - 2012 - Page 61

I was able to get into the service menu of the 55LM6700 with the 0413 code but most of the options are greyed out including THX and THX 3d which are both set to off by default. Not sure how to "un-grey" them except maybe a different 4 digit pin meant for this year's model.

It is prevalent with Bluray and DVD. TV settings have been constant. Are the pixels in the display starting to fail?

The set should still be under warranty--call LG for a service visit.

And that's the scary part - that some bad XML can cause the TV to reboot itself.

Luckily most TVs will not be Internet facing, but it does introduce the possibility that a trojan or something can spew bad packets and cause LG TVs to reboot spontaneously! biggrin.gif

not sure about the settings, but i would definitely play on "game" mode. not sure if its placebo, but when i put it on "game" mode, it seemed to handle the game better. when i first tried on other modes, there seemed to be some input lag.

Thanks. I noticed that too before I did game mode. In fact it was horrible. Now just looking for the perfect picture.

So you mean to tell me that the 6700 isn't 120hz?!

BTW: Can anyone tell me what the current firmware update is please?

I've had this TV for two weeks and I actually like it! My only gripe about it was the bleed at the top corners and the left side. So I tried the local dimming at Low, calibrated everything else and loosened the screws on the top of the set.

I don't really notice the 60hz if that's true, it's no big deal. This coming from a guy who loved his Vizio 32LFHDTV10.

For what it's worth, I think it's a great TV and am considering keeping it.

Oh, and I need to find a suitable universal remote to replace the wand.

Hi all,

I am really interested in buying the LG 42LM6700, and I need your advice before the final decision.

This will be used daily for PS3 gaming (2D and 3D) through HDMI. I may use it occasionally to watch TV, maybe a soccer match once a week. I read a lot of reviews of high input lag during gaming, approximately 68ms. Will this hinder my gaming experience?I consider myself as a casual gamer, I never play competitive online games, and never play fps games. However, since I like a real challenge, I always set the games to the highest difficulty, so each press of a button and timing are always crucial, such as Uncharted on Crushing, Mass Effect 2 on Insanity, etc). I need opinions from other gamers like me pls. Thanks in advance.

i noticed input lag when i first tried to game on my tv. Once i changed it to "game mode" the input lag went away. I pretty much only play fps games, and it feels fine in "game mode". i played blacks op2 single player in 3d and it was pretty impressive. When i play online, i do not use the 3d, because i save the 3d experience for single player.

Hi, tampa, any updates on your THX settings?
Yes, my 6700 has the CE mark.

Nothing really changed. I would say they are very decent settings, that can be customized a little to taste. For instance someone thanked me for the settings and said they boosted the color saturation a little. What I don't understand, the CNET settings for the 7600 are fantastic for that model, but their settings for the 6700 not so much. (My original 6700 went to my Parent's house, where they watch really only Network channels, and I have a 7600) I think it's disappointing the Trumotion has not been fully resolved, but I predicted that way back, many months ago. It really doesn't affect the fact that it still has a very decent picture for the cost, few if any others I saw at the time in that price range were as good or better.

tampa do you remember the page where you posted the THX settings for 6700s or you just post it for 7600 ???

could you post the link for the 6700 and if you don´t post it, to the best 6700 settings that you tried.

thanks

How can you check the manufacturing date on a set while boxed?
Question for you guys. I am noticing around the edges of my screen in bright scenes that the edges are darker. Almost like a photo vignette effect. Is that typical with these type of displays? Is there a setting I can change to reduce that or should I return for a replacement?

Yes this is typical of this type of display. It may very from unit to unit, but a general consensus is, "Yes". Unless you post pic showing the degree of lightbleed no one can really help you with your issue. It ultimately comes down to whether you can live with it or no not?
^^^he's talking about darker edges, not light bleed. Panasonic BDT220 Blu Ray players have a setting to produce this effect when in 3D mode, as far as I know LG sets don't. I'd try different sources to see it it's happening on all source material before returning the set.

I'm not sure how well it shows but it is like a photo vignette effect. I do see it on all the inputs. Any way to fix this without having to get another display? I think the white in this image should be uniform from left to right, is that correct?

My apologies misunderstood question. It's not uncommon for some sets to exhibit darker edges, but I have only seen that in older CCFL displays.

Do the later manufacturing dates have better quality control? I was curious if the flashlighting in the later models had been remedied all together or improved?
I have the 55LM7600 and a Denon 2113ci, and I just started using MediaLink. I felt lame not knowing it was there for the last 3 months, along with a nice Plex server already in place smile.gif

My question is this- I can't get audio out from the TV to the receiver. I know the receiver supports bi-directional signal, as Netflix/Vudu etc will play audio. It seems like I have to use Simplink, but I get no audio when I try. Does anyone know if it is possible to get audio to the receiver within MediaLink?

I do not have the versions of firmwares, but they should be all up to date. I can post later tonight.

Turmotion To your taste. I use Smooth mostly, but turn off for movies.
Aspect Ratio JUST SCAN
NOTE - I found changing brightness to 59 and Gamma to 2.2 gives just a little better blacks.

This is only my theory, but since the 6700 is only single core(not sure if its for Internet capability only) it may be to much additional processing the set? The 7600 has a dual core which may handle some of the post processing duties and why it has the capability.
