Official LG 47LM6700/55LM6700 "Passive 3D" Owners Thread - 2012 - Page 64

I snagged the 47LM6700 at Costco last week for $699.99. Like other LGs, they don't list them online, but that's what I paid in Louisville, KY.

What I'm noticing now is the 3D image phasing in and out of 3D, like the images are fusing together. The tech will be out in the morning with a new board to see if that fixes it.

Ver.04.34.01

Just downloaded. I'm not sure of any of the details yet.

Tried watching 3D with they're standard settings and all was fine, seems to do it only when I change the depth control, bit of a one or the other as I sit only few feet away the -10 depth makes it clear and look better especially around the edges of screen but it does that sifting thing or no sifting thing but not as good picture just because im that bit closer then you should?

Still love set and think passive 3D on this set knocks my 1st gen Samsung active 3D out of the park

I'm returning this copy of The Hobbit tonight. I tested several other 3d movies, Avengers, Monsters Inc, Harry Potter, Finding Nemo, and none of them have the same problem. I'm going to assume a faulty disc or encoding. I'll let you all know what I find out.

Hi;

Does anyone know if this is a true 120Hz refresh rate or is it just simulated? I'd love to pick one up for gaming but I'm looking for a true 120Hz refresh rate. (rather than having to switch to "Gaming" mode to alleviate input lag and then it gets dropped down to 60Hz refresh)

Thanks!!

Cheers!

It's a 60hz panel.

Don' think the lag has anything to do with the hz rating. That will just combat blurring and things like that.

I believe the 7600 is true 120Hz

Caleb,
Please let us know what they charged you since I'm considering getting a tech out to my place for my edge (screen) bleed.

I recently purchased an LG 55inch LM6700 and I noticed something really weird when watching 3D. I'm using a PS3 to play the discs. When the glasses are taken off, you see a double image (left and right eye images). Even if I pause the movie, the double image keeps fluctuating. What's happening is that the separation between them is increasing and decreasing randomly. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. This is happening even when the movie is playing resulting in depth changes in the overall image. I'm wondering if my TV is defective. The parallax increases and decreases randomly. I thought maybe that's how most BDs are encoded but it's happening even when the picture is paused. It keeps on fluctuating.

I'll post a video showcasing it later today.

EDIT
Caleb, is this the same issue that you are facing? Did you get it fixed?

EDIT #2:

Notice the parallax/image separation that keeps randomly increasing and decreasing. It's supposed to stay constant but it doesn't. Is my TV defective?
I'm using a PS3 to play the blu-ray. This is happening with every 3D Blu-ray where the image separation keeps changing, even when the movie is paused. (The movie in the video is the menu from The Avengers 3D.)

Netflix 3d Streaming titles are sort of dodgy at the moment. They just rolled it out. But a tech said it needs at least 6MB speeds to run well. Your provider may state you are getting that, but do a speed test to verify it. For those of you who don't know what I mean:::google SPEED TEST, stop all internet activity, then run it to find out what you are actually getting. biggrin.gif

srinivas1015, did you try other movies?

Mine is doing this too. I have the Sony bdp-s590 I think... but this problem is only happening in the Hobbit, and only in action sequences. Is yours like that the whole movie?

Yes, I did try other movies and it's happening in a lot of places and randomly too. I tried Journey To The Center Of The Earth, Underworld Awakening (it's apparent in the menu), The Amazing Spider-Man and Fright Night.

It's probably there in a lot of scenes in The Hobbit, it's probably just too subtle to notice. I'm wondering if it's a defect with the TV or an issue with Sony players..

I just updated my firmware to 4.20.11 and it's still the same.

I'm at a loss on mine. I am watching hobbit right now. Mine isn't the same as your problem. In the hobbit the whole picture looks in focus at once. It hurts your eyes and the 3d effect only worsens it.

Updated my DVD player. All is well now.

Try disabling

3D pattern recognition on the 3D settings.

Maybe it could fix your specific trouble with that bluray player.

hello, question for you!
I recently updated to 04.34.01 and have a slightly annoying issue now.
Whenever i 'stream' (as in not OTA video) the video stutters.
This seems to happen on any video stream other than OTA.
This happens on videos being shared/streamed via Plex, from a USB stick, and netflix.

It is extremely annoying. Anyone have any tips to get it to stop?

At first i thought it was plex, then i tried from USB and saw the same issue.
It plays and seems to stutter/drop frames every 2 seconds or so.

using HDMI 1, haven't tried any other inputs.
plex 0.9.7.17 (shouldn't matter since still stutters on non-plex media)
oh, and the TV is the LG 55LM6700

any hints/tips/etc would be rad.

Thank-you.

*edit*
I have also unplugged the TV and had it off for a few minutes and tried again
Also did a reset on the TV, still same issues.
Called the 1800 number on the details screen, was on the phone with them for a while, was told they will call me back. This seems to be more than just me having this issue.

Can anyone tell me what an average visit from an LG tech has cost them (would cost)?

I've read their website regarding visits and repairs and the text is confusing to me. I want them to come out and look at my edge bleed but I don't want to pay for something I shouldn't have to pay for.

Hi, I see illumination uniformity problems in the panel of my 6700, when I watch movies with the lights off or the tv is no signal, I advise?. This is an example of how it looks:

This of because the panel is edge-led?

Thanks!

I have the LG 42LS5700, and have been having the same problem for about a month now. PLEX (using MediaLink) stutters and Netflix stuttters, then stops. I've reset my router, tried WiFi and ethernet connections, no improvement. I'm hoping a firmware upgrade - I'm on 04.34.01 - will fix it. Has to be software - I access the same movies that I usually watch through PLEX/MediaLink through the "LG SmartShare" app with no stuttering.

Dellamorte13:

I did the following:
1) wipe the panel with a damp microfiber water only
2) Use a dry microfiber pace and firmly with the open hand which had white shadows "clouding" and disappeared, run your hand over all the edges of the TV and although they look a little longer is not terrible.

Last night I watched a movie and not notice the clouding.

Note: I read that the EDGE-LED Technology has this problem so this is normal, so for the next we have to go to a FULL-LED TV.

Anyway I wrote to LG support Colombia to see that I say and tell you.

Greetings from Colombia!

Edwin.

90% of my viewing is through plex or a usb drive. i don't have the stutter problem, and have also updated to the latest firmware. i am using plex 0.9.6.3
