Got my second replacement from Newegg today (third TV in total). Third time's a charm. Zero light bleed in any of the corners. Very, very slight light bleed on a small part of the left side, but setting local dimming to low makes it disappear. There is however one single dead pixel near the middle of the screen, but I only noticed because I was cleaning the screen. When sitting in my normal spot (or anywhere farther than like three feet from the screen), it's unnoticeable. It took awhile, and having to deal with Neweggs customer service was quite a pain at times, but I've finally gotten an acceptable television.

I actually want to say that I'm noticing more light bleed now than before. My TV was purchased in late January-early February. Time to call LG support for an appointment. This is my one gripe with the set but it's time to get it fixed.

hey guys new to the forums. was told to go here for all my tv questions and information. i just bought a lg 47lm6700 from best buy yesterday for 775.00plus tax. it replaced a 2 year old lg 42lv5500. for some reason this picture seems brighter and thats it.

i have this weird halo smoke thing going across my screen which i have been able to reduce except the right corner. i hate the remote. even though the specs say dual core processor the menus and home screen load up so slowly! i am thinking about taking this back and getting the 47la6200

. only thing is i cannot find information on that tv like this one. I hear this one has a 60 hz screen and that thats a bad thing. so i want to make sure the other tv have a 120hz panel. i also cannot find out the contrast ratio for that tv.

my questions are would any of you guys do this? i do not see a big difference in quality between the two but then again i do not really know anything.

.....also.....i know i already said this but its need to be said again, i hate the remote.

The "halo smoke thing" is most likely light bleed. I just recently went through three TV's until getting one without it. Good luck.

I don't have any of the issues you have with menus loading slowly. Obviously they aren't instant, but it takes like 1-2 seconds at most.

120hz is better, but I wouldn't say 60hz is "bad".

Thanks for the response. This TV has a 60hz panel with simulated 120hz. I am assuming the la6200 has the same thing. Switching out the TV for another one is not an option since my local best buys are out of them. Since the la6200 is direct lit instead of edge kit wouldn't that eliminate the bleeding?

Is there any word on whether this TV does 4:4:4 chroma?

i dont have cable tv, source is anything, blu ray, 3d, stream, anything... i have brand new slim hdmi cables for everything

actually yes I have true motion enable, for pc, i thought I was better on the higher level for games,
I have never played a video in slow mo with this set, it happens in any movies or stream I watch.

and 3d , is awful , I get double picture or image often .. I think is call ghosting
I tried pausing, and fixing it in 3d options. but if I fix whats in the front the backgroug got messed up. and the other way around

I just wanted to pop-in as a new member of the forum to say that I purchased the 55LM6700 yesterday from Costco for $1099 and I could not be happier with my decision.

The television it replaced, which is now in our bedroom, is a 46" Samsung LCD I purchase back in 2009. To be honest I have never had an issues with Samsung but I always felt I should have went bigger when I purchased it and we now have a much bigger living room so the Samsung just seemed a bit small.

I did quite a bit of research before I purchased this model and the reason I ultimately went this route is because it just seemed to be the most bang for the buck in terms of picture quality and features. i was initially looking at going Plasma but I had real concerns about reflection issues becuase my wife and kids watch the television a lot during the day. Plus the Plasma that I really wanted was just a bit out of my price range.

I have to say that I was hesitant to purchase this television because of the review on CNET but there are hundreds of replies to this review from actual owners who seemed to feel CNET was being a bit unfair and I have to say I agree.

My first impressions of the televison are that the picture is flat out awesome, light years ahead of my old Samsung, which has a great picture. I was a bit concerned when I got the television home but after doing some calibration I have to say that the picture is jjust awesome.

Anyway, i have not checked out the 3D yet, and I will report back my impressions, but this was not really an importangt feature to me.

Sounds like maybe you just got a dud if you're having all those issues.

New 47LM6700 owner here. Was wondering about calibration settings. I calibrated HD tv using settings mentioned above and got a very nice picture. I want to calibrate it for my Playstation 3 (currently at the GAMING preset) and games that support 3d. I've never calibrated a set before and searching around there seems to be many ways. Manually entering settings or using a calibration video (via usb). Which of these would work best?

yeah these look great for 2D, do you have any settings for 3D movies?

Thats what I use for 3d movies (I think)...

I'm still looking for a good calibration tutorial for it, particularly gaming.

Hi guys, I'm gonna start with a short question, hope.
I am trying to play a 3d blu-ray, but the moment I turn on 3d, it breaks (used Cyberlink latest).
System: passive 3d tv: 42pfl7606 Philips
7870 XT (connected through HDMI - it sais high speed, also it has 10 meters if that matters)

If I use SBS it works, if in Cyberlink I play the very video inside the blu-ray, it works, but I'm afraid it transforms 2d in 3d, because I can do the same thing with any 2d video.

Really need and would appreciate some help.

Writing here because both TVs are passive 3d, hope it's all right.

I can only find "Set Top Box Manipulation" on my TV however. I am trying to get the Volume buttons on my Magic Remote to control my Klipsch ENERGY Sound Bar which can learn any IR commands for volume/mute/source, but the magic remote currently only communicates to the TV with bluetooth when I press the volume buttons on it.

This function is on tv lg 2013 series.

i NEVER get crosstalk on this set when watching in 3d. this is probably the best 3d that i have seen, and that includes 3d in the theaters.

Agreed. I watched Wreck-It Ralph with my kids in 3D and all of us were blown away. My 6 year old daughter actually believed the images were coming out of the screen and wanted to try and touch them. Great set! Worth every penny!

Finally got an LG tech out to look at my edge bleed and he told me there was nothing he could do about it.
I love everything else about this TV but the edge bleed is so bad that I just want to leave it out on the curb and cut my losses.

Anyone have any suggestions?

yes it does. I have it set on 444 on my nvidia card and works perfectly

are you sure the halo is not from the "TRUMOTION" settings being on?

get a plasma and never worry about edge bleed. almost ALL leds i've seen have some light bleed.
