No complaints here, movies look good sports look good and games look good.

I thought the same thing until I started noticing ghosting and jutter.

This morning I realized I could do a real lag test because i have my computer set up in the same room as my TV and it is connected to the TV via HDMI. I was able to arrange my monitor and TV so I could get them in one shot with my digital camera.

This isn't a perfect test because the HDMI cord is pretty long and it goes through my receiver and I don't know the input lag of my computer LCD monitor.

With that in mind I got 70ms input lag consistently across all input labels and modes. This is disappointing. Later on I will try connecting my wife's laptop directly to the TV and see if I get the same results.

Viper - I wonder if there is another code that needs to be entered to allow editing?

Did you see any change to the menu structure?

So can anyone explain why when adjusting the "3D - Right/Left Eye" option the 3D either looks correct or is unwatchable as it make the 3D look wierd? I play some movies from my PC and most look fine with the default settings but others I must switch this option in order to watch it in 3D without my eyes crossing.

Maybe the updates are fixing the issues associated with first batch of TVs shipped out. Hence, you might not observe any changes/improvements if your set does not fall in that category. It would be useful if they published what their firmware updates are aimed at.

Motion blur and input lag are not related.

I did play some Battlefield 3 last night and didn't really have a problem with either. That was encouraging, at least. I have seen it in other games, though, like Rock Band and Portal 2.

So I am hearing a lot of mixed reviews in this thread, and I can't tell if it is because these sets are not that great or if it is because people here are much more discerning than most consumers. Most LG sets from the past few years seem to get great reviews, and I am on the verge of buying one of these (or the 7600).

Me personally at the price of $899 for the 47LM6700 I think it is an awesome TV. No matter what TV that is discussed here you will always see some flaws. I tend to compare a TV I want to purchase with the benefits from 2 yrs+ and the 3D, picture quality, and overall functions makes this TV a winner. I think the TrueMotion will eventually be switchable via a firmware flash but I do not see the soap opra effect as it is so I can wait. The remote takes a little while to get used to and the biggest flaw is you must put the remote away from you and not on the couch. If you lay it next to you and fart the darn cursor will pop up. For me this means the cursor pops on the screen every few seconds. All in all you know what looks good to you in the end. Buy what pleases your eye and features you are looking for. The reviews are helpful but eveyones nit picks are a little different.

Well, that's also a pretty fantastic price (almost half of what it sells for on Amazon). Where did you get a deal like that? I have been keeping an eye out for deals on the 55lm7600, but I might bite the bullet at $2k soon.

is this model last year's follow-up to the LW5600/6500? Is the screen still matte or semi-glossy?

the 899 price was a sale at frys.

Are the black levels any better than the LW5600?

I have a 47LW5600. Just got a 47LM6700 (to evaluate as a replacement for the LW) and a 65LM6200 (to replace a dead Olevia 65" 265FHD-T11) during the Fry's sales.

I haven't had much time to evaluate them, my initial impressions of the 47LM6700 are good, with some concerns (don't like glossy screens, no Trumotion adjustment)

Thanks to all those providing helpful information in this thread. I'm hoping we can figure out the service menu and Trumotion issues. Looking forward to more info on these models. I'm curious about the theory of early production run units having issues, mine was built in March.

I can confirm that my remote from the LW does control the 47LM6700 for most, if not all of the functions (quick menu, inputs, 3D, navigation, etc.) So those looking for remote codes should be able to use the ones from last year's models. Those with learning remotes could get last year's remote or take your learning remote to a store and do some quick teaching with a display model's remote.

Agreed on the 3D. And for me the 2D is excellent too. Last night I watched The Walking Dead off my DVR. I had stopped watching it on the Samsung FP because it's a dark show and the Samsung panels (all 4 of them) had horrible uniformity and banding. But with the LG, perfection! No sign of unevenness or banding.

As for the lack of Truemotion control, LG better get its act together and provide a firmware fix - SOON!

Last night I noticed something on my 47LM6700.

When swithing from normal 2D viewing to 2D-3D conversion while using the TV speakers, the volume and bass level increase (even though the volume number doesn't change). It sounds much better, almost as if it switches to a different EQ setting. When you turn 3D off, the sound reverts back to the lower level. No matter what I do, I can not reproduce the deeper sound level while in 2D mode.

Can anyone comment on this?

There is a menu item in the 3D section for expanded 3D sound. Check it out.

LOLZ. The lack of control for an advertized feature for a TV in this price range is unacceptable. I don't know of any competitor that doesn't allow control over this. Agreed that the LG has a very good picture, but currently, it is an incomplete product.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I tried this and it didn't change much. I'll give it another shot though.

Does your volume level change when switching from 2D to 2D-3D conversion and back? I wish I could get the same sound level while in 2D, but I can't match it even with the User EQ. The increase in bass response when going to 3D mode is remarkable for those little speakers, I want it all the time.

I have a soundbar, so I'm not affected by it.
